Nintendo's latest iteration of the Nintendo DS, the DSi, has officially launched in Japan for a price of 18,900 yen. Japanese newssite Impress Watch reports that a line of 400 strong was seen at BIC Camera in Ikebukuro. Dengeki Online is also reporting strong showings in Akihabara, at Asobitcity and Sofmap.

    I'm sure the people there think they're in that Groundhog Day movie since this is the 3rd time the DS has launched in Japan.

    I think its pretty much bullshit that Nintendo has Japan basically as their slut in bed. The US is pretty good friends with Nintendo, but I guess not as good as Japan to not offer a dual release.
