Soundtrack of the year should have gone to Saints Row 2 >_< And Xbox game of the year GTA IV? =| GTA IV was just an overhyped pile of crap.

Other than that everything else is pretty awesome

GTA best soundtack? It doesn;t even have one apart from the shitty radio tracks, Metal Gear wasn't even a runner up, these people obviously know nothing...

I would've given best soundtrack to Mega Man 9.

Seriously, it was the most original and noticeable thing all year.

I don't agree with any of that. The only deserving games were MGS4 and COD4, the rest were just overhyped garbage.

      So your calling:
      Portal
      Guitar Hero III
      Fallout 3
      Far cry 2
      Fable 2
      Gears of war 2

      Overhyped? Oh please.

The runners-up were better-suited winners. I meant most of the winners were overhyped.

Stop crying Seriously. while I knew PS game of the year would be MGS4, the rest pretty much was expected. And yes FinalFantasyFanaticc and PangTong_Blademaster GTA has the best sound track out of the group. While SR2 is fun and has a nice soundtrack it pales in comparison to GTA, since R* is known for having kickass sound tracks.

As for MGS4, I honestly doubt they had had anything in-terms of sound tracks to the winner or even runners up.

Glad you think that.I think the SR2 soundtrack shits all over GTAIV's soundtrack.Just Down Under and Take On Me makes SR2's soundtrack better than GTAIV's

Just because they're known to have 'kickass' soundtracks doesn't mean Saints Row 2's weren't more 'kickass'.

      quote GTA Guru
I agree that SR2 didn't deserve the "Best Soundtrack" awards. Yes it was an excellent soundtrack, but I think that GTA IV was globally much better. It had far more humor and writing, better overall selection of songs, good talk radio, and lots of other extras.

The problem with SR2's soundtrack was that the writing for commercials and skits for the original SR was so piss poor that it kind of feels like Volitions was AFRAID to add any real comedy to it and shied away from the writing as much as possible to avoid criticism, to the point that, as good as the music is, the radio stations just don't feel nearly as deep as the ones in GTA IV.
The GTA Guru disagrees with both of you.

Well I don't count the skits in the soundtrack. When I think of soundtrack I think of music alone. In that respect, SR2's soundtrack is far better.

In fact out of soundtracks in games of all time, I would put it #1 GTAVC, then either Burnout 3 or SR2.

One song I heard for the first time on SR2 has easily become my 2nd or 3rd favourite song of all time.It certainly has my #1 favourite verse in it.

GTAIV only had 2 songs that stuck out high above the other songs.SR2 has a lot more.

He's the most knowledgeable person when it comes to GTA; So for me, his opinion has more merit than others.

MGS4 really ought to have won more than one award. I don't think I can't be considered a fanboy when I say it was a purely epic game that's kind of being underappreciated. It's just a fact that Metal Gear Solid games just rock.

Sadly I didn't think MGS4 would get more awards from Gamesrader tbh. Besides the fact this isn't a unanimous awards just on the site. We'll have to wait for the spike one.
