Remember when Sony was asked what they thought of DLC and SCEE responded "nothing is ever exclusive"? Well I don't think this was what they were talking about. Either way it seems there's DLC coming to both platforms. A spokesperson told GameCyte that "its downloadable content for both systems". If by some chance the PS3 does end up getting exclusive DLC, be assured DLC in itself will not be exclusive.

Update: Why EA would promise both PS3 and Xbox 360 owners fresh DLC, when everybody knows that Mirror's Edge PS3 is getting the exclusive? We asked our friendly neighborhood EA representative. "It's downloadable content for both platforms," a spokesperson told GameCyte.

While PS3 might well have some token exclusive DLC (just look at how EA is handling Dead Space), DLC in and of itself will apparently not be exclusive.

Original Story:

When we set out to build GameCyte, our mandate was quality. We would publish only the most interesting, entertaining and important gaming news out there, with none of the fluff or sensationalism of our competitors. No screenshots for the sake of having screenshots, no "game has gone gold" press releases designed to drive you to stores - we're here to bring you fact, humor and insight, and we feel that stories that have none of the three aren't worth your time.

However, Joystiq has reminded us today that even if we're not going to post that "game X has shipped to retail," we owe you, our readers, a through scouring of the accompanying press release in case it holds other useful tidbits of information - like the fact that Mirror's Edge PC is headed stateside in January 2009, and DICE will have some sort of DLC available for Mirror's Edge "at the beginning of the year."

PC also has the capability of hacking and homebrewing.

So do we actually know what the DLC is? Rather useless to reveal it then and not give and indication.

"If by some chance the PS3 does end up getting exclusive DLC, be assured DLC in itself will not be exclusive"

?? I think you should edit that part, it doesn't make much sense.

Sure it does, just sit and think about it for a moment.

      Still don't have it?

The point that was being made, is that DLC itself will be available on BOTH consoles. In other words, even if SOME DLC is exclusive to one console, you can rest assured that both consoles will be getting at least SOME DLC.

English is a tricky (read: Stupid sometimes) language >_>

It was poorly worded. Has nothing to do with the English language.

I thought the PlayStation 3 version would be receiving additional download content beyond that of what will be available for the Xbox 360? Either that or each console will have it's own exclusive set, as seen in Dead Space and mentioned in the article.

PS3 version still may get its own exclusive content, but the DLC in itself will be multiplatform.

Redundancy is great. DLC will be universal. Additionally, PS3 may also see it's own exclusive content. Is that so hard?
