It's fair to say most gamers have bashed Wii Music, most not even considering it a game at all, just some shovel ware Nintendo wants to sell to idiotic casual gamers. And perhaps Nintendo will try a little harder to please hardcore gamers next time, as fans have struck Nintendo where it hurts most, their wallets. Early sales reports for Wii Music estimates its sales around 50 000 so far, which while good comes no where near Wii Fit. Nintendo are still defending the title though, Cammie Dunaway, Nintendo executive vice president of sales and marketing calling it an "evergreen title"

Wii Sports and Wii Fit have, for the most part, sold at astronomical rates. Though, the same cannot be said for the third brother in the family, Wii Music. Reported NPD numbers say that Wii Music sold more than 50,000 units, which isn’t exactly terrible. However, compared to Wii Fit, Wii Music has garnered a less successful reception. Nintendo wholeheartedly believes in the game, however, and are more than willing to defend the game’s sales.

Ever remember the statistic that 70% of people that bought Wii Fit played it a second time. That said, I wonder how many of these 50,000 copies sold will play the Wii Music again.

Have you even seen the aired commercials? They're terrible. It's just some people shaking Wii controllers around and then the word "Wii Music".

Nintendo should start to realizes that the consumer isn't as much of an idiot as they thought.

The commercial for the game that I saw was utter crap, but that said, I don't actually remember seeing ANY commercials for Wii Fit. And yet that was a success... sell out even... though you have to remember that the ratio of "used more than once" to "used once" is much lower...

With that in mind, the fact that they paid £80 for something they only used the once (or twice) does (in my opinion) make them slightly idiotic, but that may just be because I do watch where I spend my money - or at least try to. I never buy anything I don't need... and yes I need my PS3 to survive

I thought the porn stars and other girls in lingerie on Youtube were the Wii Fit commercials.

Video with girls in lingerie... that'd be why... if it was a trailer of you on the Wii Fit... now that'd be a commercial...

I remember that when it was released, I'd walk out from NUHQ in Norwich, and people would be walking around having just been game/argos/other places walking out with Wii Fits... most of them also seemed to be overweight... I wonder how often they all actually used it...

I thought the Wii Music commercial, like most Nintendo ads, was cute and clever IN THEORY. They just don't seem to realize that people look like tools while wavin' the Wii Remote around...

I'm afraid this is all wrong. Wii Music will be one of the biggest selling games of 2009 - Nintendo have created what they call "evergreen" titles, which means that unlike a traditional "gamers" game, which typically has a shelf life of around four months before the price starts dropping, these titles peak somewhere around six months after launch, and continue to sell at full price years later.

In the UK, Nintendogs is still £30, as is New Super Mario Bros., and the Brain Training brigade are all still £20 - all still at their original launch prices. The NEWEST title in that lot is two and a half years old.

Wii Music will sell to fourteen year old boys via their mothers this christmas, come January you won't find it anywhere...

"evergreen" is just a way of making up for the fact that it's going to sell like shit, if we give it this coy name then we can shout "aha! told you" when it does finally start selling anyone can do that.

        Lol yea, pretty much >_>

What do you expect from a big company? For them to say "Well, I guess we were wrong, we'll go commit seppuku to wash away our shame"......

But nevertheless, it probably WILL continue to sell a bit, for a long time. Just not a LOT.

Simply because the 'casual' and 'Nintendo fanboy/fangirl' crowd will buy into it. Well, some of them anyhow.

You could put eyes on a rock, and countless people could buy it....

        Wait, that's already happened XD

There are always people who'd buy anything, just because they're mindless sheep who listen to everything a company spouts out as (what they call) 'truth' >_>

How many of the people that have this bought for them by their mothers will actually play them? I know that no-one that I know that owns a wii would be caught dead with WiiMusic...

And when I was fourteen year old, if I wanted to play an instrument, I'd actually get it, not wave my hands like a maniac to play it on a "virtual" drum set/guitar/other instrument...

This is definitely not something you'd do on your own either, so unlike Wii Sport or SSBB I don't see many people getting this and playing it on their own - at least not gamers.

The UK is one thing. In North America, I've only seen Nintendogs once this year at a game store, and that was used for $10. New Super Mario Bros. isn't very visible either, but when it is it's often lower in price as well.

I really hope this continues to bomb so Nintendo can realize that they cant continue making shitty games for a quick cash in.

tallteen you mean "Mindless, Brainwashed Lemmings"?

Anyway Nintendo, maybe now you'd know what gamers really want to play and see, which is Fatal Frame 4 and not this horrific excuse of a title. More adverts for that game please!!! Thanks.

That is a term that also works well. They both mean the same thing though.

I know, but I like referring back to sarcastic gamer video review of it.

I just don't understand how it didn't get as many sales as it was supposed too. They have like 50 different videos of Wii Music on the Nintendo channel. More than Wii Fit, yet Wii Fit still got more sales.

That's becuase they're more fat people than wannabe musisians in this world (acctually, as a mucisian, I find Wii Music offensive).
