Nomura Reveals Details On Kingdom Hearts

It's not Kingdom Hearts III, but details have been spilled on the whole new series mentioned awhile ago. It is planned to be on the portable systems; DS, PSP, and mobile phones. It is a side-story of Sora's tale, along with a focus on some other aspects such as how Mickey got his key, what happened while Mickey and Riku where in the World of Darkness, and the person that is Roxas. All are exciting places for a story, revealing things that were previously an enigma.

In a recent interview, Tetsuya Nomura let slip a few details about the next game in the Kingdom Hearts series. While details about this new project are few and should be viewed skeptically, Nomura did state that it is not Kingdom Hearts III. It is, instead, a side-story to Sora's tale.

Part of the focus of this new story, Nomura stated, will be the events that led to Mickey possessing a keyblade, and what took place in the World of Darkness. Nomura also wants to focus on developing the character of Roxas.

Concerning platform, Nomura mentioned the PlayStation Portable, the Nintendo DS, and cell phones. He also pointed out that the official announcement had not yet occurred, but that it might come in the near future.

    I could care less about Roxas, lol. This game will be filling up some plotholes from KH2 (and that game had lots), so I'm happy. Knowing Nomura's work on the KH series, though, it's likely that this game won't be out for a long time, like the next major-installment, KHIII (don't know what else to call it ).

      There wont be a KH3 you fruit tart, probably the Keyblade wars.

    Yeah, plus the fact his team is also working on FF Versus XIII, this project could take awhile. I'm hoping it will at least be out by late 2008 or early 2009; I doubt any earlier, and I'm expecting delays to come by as usual. That makes the actual KHIII seem even more distant.

    I guess this will be interesting to see. Never bought a Kingdom Hearts handheld game so I'll probably keep my eye on this.

      No don't try that BS with me. There wont be a KH3 title like i told him. The next game is called the keyblade wars, nomura has said this like awhile ago. so who's the fruit tart now.

    So, just because the next title may be called Keyblade Wars, that means there will be no KH3 later? There will most likely be a KH3. This next game is supposed to tell you how Mickey got the keyblade and what happened in the World of Darkness. Doesn't mean that there won't be a KH3. This game could be like CoM. Just a side thing.

    And finalblade, if you are going to insult someone, use something better XD Fruit tart? Please...

    Guys quit with the insults, though fruit tart is a bit off an odd one to use:P. Anyway like Neto said this doesn't mean there won't be a KH3, it could well be a spin off like COM was with a KH3 planned later on.

    Um, didn't I say I don't know what else to call it? There WILL be a third KH game, that's why I said KHIII for now...it's a working title. Trust me, I'd know, huge fan xD

    I don't care about the next installment in the KH series, as it won't be out for a long time to come, so I don't see any point in aruging about it. However, this takes my fancy. CoM was pretty good for a GBA game, and the DS can easily take it a lot further.

    Woo! Yay Roxas! I'd love to see him return.

    Anyway, I'll definitely get this if it comes out. I do hope that it's not like KH: CoM though. I wasn't too fond of that game, even though I took the time to beat the two story modes. :/
