Killzone 2, a game PS3 owners have known quite well for quite a while, should be happy to know that this game is possibly one we will compare other games to when talking graphics, at least so says this expert.

…while the actual graphics themselves aren’t really a generation beyond anything we’ve seen recently in terms of geometry or textures, I think it’s the handling of those visuals that makes it truly stand out. The motion blur, the post-processing, the lighting, the shadows, the animation of your player’s movements… all of it is geared towards a closer emulation of reality.

Because somehow we needed an "expert" to tell us this...

Also, I saw quite well before that the beta does indeed surpass the 2005 trailer. It just looked a bit different in terms of colors.

"The expert goes on to say that while the graphics don’t hit the high mark set by that damned pre-rendered video from 2005"

The expert says otherwise, But your in the beta so Ill take your word for it.

No, I'm not in the beta actually. There was an article a while back comparing the trailer to the beta, visually. It was clear that the beta was sharper (though the smoke effects of the rocket launcher in the trailer are just too crazy to try to attempt).

Oh, well you could have lied and said you were in the beta.

I still think the 2005 trailer looks better all round. The recent Beta vids and the updated look is awesome, and it looks very nice. I dunno why really, I just found the 2005 trailer much more appealing. But thats me...

Yeah I think the 2005 trailer did look better. The textures just looked a lot more realistic.

The pics in the article Red9 mentioned to me looked like a game whereas I felt the 2005 trailer looked more like a CGI movie.

        Partially because it is CGI.

Technically, you could consider any game CGI because the acronym is for Computer Generated Imagery.

Good point. But I think CGI as a word is normally used in the film industry.

Yeah, the 05 trailer WAS TRUE CGI, forget the technicalities of all games being CGI. >_>

The gameplay is more than impressive, i was absolutely blown away by how solid the whole game is. It's never just one thing the whole thing graphics, sound and gameplay all mesh and become something absolutely spectacular. Even without the graphics and sound to back it up the gameplay is enough to make this title a must have.

From the impressions of the Beta, yes it is very solid.

Yea the gameplay is pretty sweet. And graphically speaking, the beta is really detailed, the explosions are amazing.

So, I take it the actual game will far exceed Killzone 1 right?
