It seems the US will play host to yet another large company that is set to open its Development Studios doors. Square Enix has listed opportunities in various careers sections asking for applicants to start work in their new US Studio.

SLip over to the site to find out more.

Although personally I'm a little worried that they didn't pick Canada, as it offers the biggest incentives to game developers at the moment with huge tax cuts and incentives. ?!

The well respected Japanese developer and publisher, Square Enix, has issued a notice on their careers page calling for various positions to be filled in a new development studio based in Los Angeles.

Square Enix currently has two American based offices, one already in Los Angeles and the other in Seattle, both of which currently handle marketing, localisation and publishing for North America.

The new development studio seems to focus on producing more Western orientated titles, with the Xbox 360 a key focus. The development studio will be built from the ground up, with positions including; Xbox 360 software engineer, 3D artists, product manager and more.

Hope this means Square Enix will consider the West a bit more, info, demo's and even the games themselves have massive delays compared to Japan and such.

No, I'm serious. They will most likely make JRPGs aimed at the American audience.

Big big news! This means Square is really sticking to their world and trying to break out in a big way onto the global stage (not that they hadn't in the past, but this is the start of a more aggressive approach)...

I just hope we keep getting quality localizations (with original Japanese language track pls) of JPN-SquareEnix titles.
