E3 Floor Plans Revealed

tekmosis | May 01, 2007 | News | Company Misc
We all knew that E3 was going to be small but how small? apparently *this* small. Would it really be worth the time to even go? sure they would give press fre entry but taking into account hotel, airfare, meals. That's quite a bit for such a small E3. No booth girls, either. I'm sure we'll find out how well this smaller down version of E3 does.

Why exactly are they making it smaller this year? Low budget, or did they think it's just a better idea?

As far as I know it was due to costs, not totally sure though but I do remember reading about it on penny arcade a while back

There was word that this is an attempt to bring the resulting press content more inline with actual gaming material rather than the jazz and fanfare of some trumped up show.

Unfortunately for the E3 organizers, a lot of that content and showmanship was a critical part of readers' interest in E3 at all. Not to mention now somehow lots of exhibitors are completely gone, so how is this supposed to make the E3 news "better"?

It sucks that there are less total exhibitors but if we get better information and such from these new E3's I'd be okay.

It seems all to often most E3's were simply a whole lot of vague rumors shrouded by a lot of flashy advertising.

We'll have to wait and see what happens this year and how things go. What type of news we get out of this E3 and if it's blah to hope that they open it back up to the public at the very least.

It's ridiculous. I heard it was due to costs, like they didn't meet the prices they were hoping for last year. Wiki says it's to make it have more of a 'business' style.

They are making up for this, though, with something called Entertainment for All, an expo in late October for the public. People who go there can purchase the games coming out during the holidays...thus getting them earlier than the rest of the group.

Oh right, the floor plans! It's not that small if you ask me.
