But the point is they were side missions. Things to do in the game once you beat it, therefore adding replay value and something that made you just enjoy the game some more away from the story mode.
That's what I had hoped Trophies would be like. Something like those skill points. Not all too challenging, but not all too easy either. Something that makes you go back and do it as a mission in itself. I don't like the trophies that you accidentally get when you play the game normally (Things like, "Beat this guy three times in a row"). But, things like . . . . "Find all the ____ in the level" where "______" is not vital to the story mode and you could do without finding any of them normally.
Anyone understand or agree with what I'm talking about?
But like you said, I think they should do away with most, if not all, of those "beat this chapter" trophies, with the exception of one for beating the entire game (maybe for each difficulty at most) or one for beating half the game, and then the whole game . . . no more though.
In fact it's the main reason why I'm not yet bored with Gears of war.
Some stuff are easy like kill an enemy this way, some are just from the story like, complete chapter three...and others...well....the only achievment that makes me gulp from Gears is the Horde the Horde one.
Really difficult.
Games with a short story and no online like Mirrors Edge, the trophies can really improve its replayability, to know you have this acheivement and he doesn't and you still enjoy the game even more.
Now all thats left is nintendo.......were waiting....
But they now need to work on Exclusives....Namely getting them, keeping them, or at least getting exclusive DLC.
Sometimes I feel like some people dwell on the past a little too much...
This feature, plus what seems to be an almost unbeatable lineup in 2009 will surely push PS3 up in sales and appreciation by the owners; many of which have yet to justify their purchase of the PS3.
