Like it or not, SOE has really done the best they thought they could with Star Wars Galaxies. I for one liked the original HAM system of the game and have since stopped playing. However, SOE keeps persevering, adding new content right and left. Their Chapter 11 update looks to include the Battle of Echo Base and will advanced the game's time frame to the beginning of 'Empire'. The article also says they will include Snowspeeders in the battle for players to pilot, which is a cool prospect I must admit.
