To all you seekers who might have bought your Xbox 360 at your local Sam's Club, even in a bundle, you will appreciate this heartwarming account of one man's quest to return his broken model in favour of a new, working one.

Sam's Club allowed him to do this for free, he was even able to keep the hard drive!

Virg's Xbox360 got the dread Red Ring of Death. He bought it in Feb '07, and it started failing this Nov '08. He figured it would be months before he would get it back and expected to have to pay somewhere. Much to his surprise, Sam's Club let him swap it out for a new one for free.

They even let him keep his hard drive from the first one so he wouldn't lose all his games. And when it turned out they only had cheaper bundles available, they refunded him the difference.

That's it. I'm buying all future consoles from Sams.

Hopefully idiots won't abuse this privilege and Sams will keep doing it.

I'm pretty sure Costco is part of the same thing...if that helps you.

      I could be wrong though.

It's owned by the same people who own Wal-Mart. Basically the same thing as Wal-Mart, except you have to pay $40 every year for a membership.

I don't think Costco is the same thing, by the way.

It's the exact same thing. Bulk shopping.

You may be right though, it's probably owned by a completely different corporation.

Oh I see. I go to BJ's Wholesale Club here and there to pick up a few things. Warehouse-like, as is Costco. I've never stepped foot into a Wal-Mart, though. Will likely have to travel upstate to find one.

OMFG I has the membership card!!

To bad I didn't get it there =/

Sam....you sir are full of win.

Maybe they should restrict this to certain problems (like only for the RROD) and such to stop said idiots.

If it is, then this guy is the luckiest 360er out of the bunch of RRoDers.
