Tabula Rasa will be closing its doors on February 29th, 2009. NCSoft pulled the plug on the project after its lackluster launch and subscription numbers floundered. They will let people play for free starting on January 10th as a thank you. Tabula Rasa was an attempt at combining the sci-fi and fantasy genres in an MMORPG setting while making use of 'twitch-based' FPS player skills.

Yeah that is pretty cool of them. I might actually give it another go during that period. Maybe they are hoping to gain some big numbers then in an effort to stay open?

I took notice of Tabula Rasa when it was displayed at E3 a few years back. Only problem was that I was (and still am) against P2P-based games. The various ways of customizing guns in the game was what caught my attention. Shame they are closing down, though, surely had a lot of potential.

I'll also take advantage of the free state next year.

That sucks, I don't even have the game and it looks interesting. Only if they made a console version.

I was hoping for a console version of this too. Personally It felt to me like it suited consoles more and probably would have merited more attention thesedays.

So many online games going down the tubes. I was hopeful for this year's lineup, and have been sorely disappointed. Glad I didn't invest in -this- one, too.
