Final Fantasy XIII wins "Do believe the hype" award at MTV Game Awards

Who would have thought it ? It seems that even though the game is taking forever, the anticipation for it is just as huge as it was 2 years ago. Beating games such as Resident Evil 5, Diablo 3 and Duke Nukem Forever, Final Fantasy XIII came away as "the game that looks like it will most live up to the hype".

    Well, it does beat the other games by 'numbers' (XIII > 5, 3, etc.). Out of the nominees, yeah I'd agree with being more anticipated with FFXIII, though if Mass Effect 2 would be announced sooner...well move over FF.

    I don't understand how they can say this having seen next no gameplay footage whatsoever. I'd like to say Versus' hype is believeable, but I can't since there's no gameplay footage on it.

    GOW3 should've got it honestly, if this is how they evaluate them...

    Square Enix games haven't lived up to their "hype" in some time... but I outgrew the FF franchise some time in the late 90s.

    I respect PoP, but I feel like Diablo 3 is the only nomination I would've considered seriously, if you could call a "Do Believe the Hype" award serious...

    Square Enix is hands down the best at building up hype for a game but the final product never seems to live up to it. Its been 4 or 5 years since theyve had a great one in my eyes so i think there about due to make one as good as we know they can.

    TBH, I'm not too sure what Prince of Persia was doing on that list.

    I mean, all the others are games that have a huge following and when I think "huge following" I don't think Prince of Persia.

    Maybe that's just me though.

    Looks like it will live upto the hype?
    Even with closed media screenings and leaked media and such, what, we've seen about 5-10 minutes worth?

    Ah well. If you can make a game better than FFXII, then kudos, Im happy as!

    Hey they put Psychosocial on Resident Evil... that was badass!
    im not really waiting for XIII, i like the look of vsXIII a lot more,but of the list i actually would tie that with Resident Evil 5
    just my opinion.

    Besides Final Fantasy 13, most of those games have poor hype to begin with. Sure RE5 could be a good game, same for diablo 3, DNF and Prince of Persia but Final Fantasy 13 is probably going to win the hype from those titles.
    Again probably bad choices to begin with, they should have included Killzone 2.

    Anyway FF13 >> everything within the list. Easy.
