The official announcement has been made regarding the 'big news' promised by Lionhead recently. It looks as though instead of a Fable 2 patch, they are actually introducing new content instead. The Knothole Island DLC pack has been announced for release in Mid-December, and includes a new location, new weapons and potions, and more.
Lionhead Studios promised a big announcement this week for its Fable II, and they have delivered with the news that they are working on a DLC pack called 'Knothole Island', which will feature the new island locale as well as six new weapons, dozens of new potions, and a lot more.
The DLC pack will be released sometime in December and will have these key features:
- Embark on 3 unique quests set in 3 unique dungeons.
- Unravel the mystical secrets of the resurrection shrine.
- Try on a whole new range of outfits and look like an armoured knight, an assassin, a barbarian or a leather-clad biker, among many others.
- Brandish 6 new weapons...

I am simply tired of being promising DLC, and receiving "skins" or a "time trial mode" for some rather costly MS points..
I honestly wish Bioware kept Mass Effect alive after enjoying their first episode pack - which was stellar new content.
Peter M. and Lionhead really could turn Fable 2 into a fine example of keeping a title alive with quality DLC!
