The official announcement has been made regarding the 'big news' promised by Lionhead recently. It looks as though instead of a Fable 2 patch, they are actually introducing new content instead. The Knothole Island DLC pack has been announced for release in Mid-December, and includes a new location, new weapons and potions, and more.

Lionhead Studios promised a big announcement this week for its Fable II, and they have delivered with the news that they are working on a DLC pack called 'Knothole Island', which will feature the new island locale as well as six new weapons, dozens of new potions, and a lot more.

The DLC pack will be released sometime in December and will have these key features:
  • Embark on 3 unique quests set in 3 unique dungeons.
  • Unravel the mystical secrets of the resurrection shrine.
  • Try on a whole new range of outfits and look like an armoured knight, an assassin, a barbarian or a leather-clad biker, among many others.
  • Brandish 6 new weapons...

Awesome! AWESOME! I ended a 48-hour Fable 2 binge at 2AM this morning, and though I hear once you are done with the main storyline you can continue playing, hearing that they are working on meaty content (not another damn skin pack like everyone else is doing) I am psyched... *sigh* but hope they keep releasing more unlike Bioware which did one extra misison pack then vanished (most likely to finish DragonAge and begin work on ME2)

As you stated, this is AWESOME. I hope Lionhead keep things going in this direction and keep us happy with new dungeons, storys, weapons, clothes and achievements =D

800 Microsoft Points! I think it should be free as an apology for all the glitches and limited edition crap. With that said, I'm addicted to this game and will probably end up buying this.

Luckily, I do have enough points for this purchase. I'm glad Lionhead is giving consideration to this game's lasting appeal... instead of letting it collect dust.

Collect dust like many devs have allowed to happen with titles that lend themselves to having replay value extended with DLC.

I am simply tired of being promising DLC, and receiving "skins" or a "time trial mode" for some rather costly MS points..

I honestly wish Bioware kept Mass Effect alive after enjoying their first episode pack - which was stellar new content.

Peter M. and Lionhead really could turn Fable 2 into a fine example of keeping a title alive with quality DLC!

It is a great game and great games, should always extend their greatness with a DLC.
