Whilst Reggie Fils-Aime has shown dislike for Disaster: Day of Crisis on Wii, stating he will wait to see just how well the game sells before green-lighting a US release, Nintendo of Japan has confirmed that the game is sadly underpeforming so far. In an upcoming interview, though, it IS revealed that the concept for a sequel has already been created, with the idea of a potential DS version not being completely dismissed either. Monolith Soft also confirms it has more than one other Wii game in the pipeline and says it is ready and waiting to make another Baten Kaitos.
Sadly Hitoshi Yamagami, Producer at Nintendo, confirmed many people's worst fears. Unfortunately it seems that the game is "performing lower than expected". He did go on to state that "Regardless of the region, "'DISASTER' can be enjoyed by any consumer that loves 'disaster' style movies." So perhaps Reggie should take that into consideration and appease those in the US grieving over the possibility of not getting their hands on such a highly entertaining game.

Strange that they won't publish the game here but are perfectly willing to make a sequel and spin off.
Wow, *bleep* you Reggie.
As this game wasn't really hyped to the max like wii fit etc it's only real sales come from the few harcore gamers on the wii, this is the reason for its underperformance. Now I am looking forward to someone saying "ur a DUmbass thr R lods of hrdc0re gmers on WII u dunt now wut ur talkin booot"
But the fact of the matter is, games that are aimed at the hardcore on wii just wont sell well.
And nearly all of them sold as good if not better than the casual crap they keep releasing.
Agree with you on the Casual gaming part, most Wii owners are casual. But there are plenty of hardcore games on the Wii. Don't make me whip out the list...
1) Super Smash Brothers Brawl (1st Party)
2) Super Mario Galaxy (1st Party)
3) The Legend of Zelda: The Twilight Princess (1st Party)
4) Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn (1st Party)
5) Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (1st Party)
6) Super Paper Mario (1st Party)
7) Call of Duty: World At War
8) Okami (3rd Party)
9) No More Heroes (3rd Party)
10) Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition (3rd Party)
11) Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles (3rd Party)
12) Medal of Honor Heroes 2 (3rd Party)
13) Ghost Squad (3rd Party)
14) House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return (3rd Party)
15) Mario Kart Wii (what? It has online and some people play it competitively)
What a surprise, nearly all of those sold well. Wiki them sometime.
And of course the Conduit is coming out, along with Fatal Frame IV, Pikmin III, Sadness, Mad World, Zelda sequel that's been confirmed, No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, and Overlord: The Dark World. Not to mention the hints and hopes (crosses fingers) of Resident Evil 5 on the Wii, which would kick ass on just about any console but whatever.
