You won't always be stalking grimy warehouses and dreary cities in Killzone 2 according to Guerrilla Games Q&Q Manager Seb Downie. While this isn't a big deal for me, it will be a nice change of pace to perhaps experience some environments with a little more life in them. This ties in with previous info from EGM's August issue preview, saying that some levels will show the natural beauty of Helghan.

Speaking on the Official PlayStation forums, Guerrilla Games Q&Q Manager Seb Downie promised users, "[Helgan] is not just grey urban wasteland."

LIES!! Helgan is a beautiful urban wasteland, it has nothing natural!

well i really don't mind the fact that most of the game will be in an urban setting, but i'm not complaining if they go into forests and stuff, just as long as the action and the beauty is there.

I don't know why this has become such a big deal in the first place. I honestly think all the "complaints" about the gray-ness came from the XBOX fanboys. I never heard anyone hyped about the game complaining about the dark environments. What else would you expect anyway? It's a war torn planet in the middle of an industrial "renovation." I just hope they don't have these colorful environments for the sake of the complainers, because they would look thrown in for the hell of it.

You'd be asking for a bit too much if you want people to understand things in Killzone.

I don't think it is an Xbox fanboy complaint so much as a low groan from gamers in general. The favorite complaint about FPS and TPS of late is the color palette or rather the lack there of. Most games in the genre are very grey. Even the vaunted Gears of War has suffered the groans of the color palette complaint.

Personally it doesn't bother me. I think it lends to the atmosphere if things are dreary and, well, grey. But I guess if you play the genre all the time it could get a bit depressing and samey.

I really don't think the people who like the games are the ones complaining. XBOTS yap about Killzone, PS3 people yap about Gears, and the Nintendo puppets do the same for both, all over the message boards.

That could be true too. But I really don't think it is just a fanboy rant. There is to much of it all across the board to be just the fanboys.

I actually wouldn't mind if the game stayed in the gray urban area instead of forest and stuff like that. I've never really like the forest area in games...as long as they give me a good bit of day light sequences, I'm good.

this is nonsense. id be very upset if a level is thrown in on some random forrest or beach if it takes anything away from the storyline.

If they do a great job of drawing you in the atmosphere, I think this would be good. Such as a normandy style beach setting.

I don't care about grey or colorful. If the game is good, i'll play it and enjoy it.

It is indeed too colourless, i really need to be able to play the game and sense a bit more life in it
