Square-Enix has announced their entire 2009 game's line-up. The company has 26 titles on the list for various platforms. A few of the titles are still set for release in Japan only, but various sources are pointing to a North American and European release for them in 2009 as well.

Square-Enix has announced their 2009 line-up of titles. Some of these have not been nailed down for a North American or European release as of yet, but given their track record it is only a matter of time.

Dragon Quest Monster Battle Road II (Arcade)
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (DS)
Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep (PSP)

I call fake unless another reliable source is found due to the fact that The Last Remnant [XBOX360] and Chrono Trigger [DS] are still on the list even though they've already been released in Japan.

I also call fake as the list doesn't even list FFXIII as being on the 360 and only on the PS3.

Well that's partly understandable as FFXIII will most likely only be released on the PS3 in 2009.

Oh, then what was all that talk SE was doing during E3 about a simultaneous release across all platforms?

Simultaneous release is for NA and PAL only.

The 360 version wouldn't be released in Japan in 2009, whilst the PS3 version will be.

Of course, Square could take us by surprise and release it in NA and PAL in 2009, on both consoles too, but I doubt it.

I don't know that I would call it fake. Inaccurate would be a better word.

Not only have they been released in Japan, but you can pick up Last Remnant and Chrono Trigger in the states as well.

I really hope Squeenix doesn't *bleep* up Star Ocean like they did with The Last Remnant. I'd rather wait a couple more months and play a completed game than get an unfinished product sooner.

I am the exec ed for GamingShogun.com and must offer my sincerest apologies to GameGrep and its gaming community. This story was posted as a matter of fact on my website today due to an error on the part of its original submitter as well as our daytime editor. I have made an official correction to the story on our website and hope you will accept my apology as we were wrong to have posted this story as a matter of fact.

Apparently, the submission was meant to be a compiled list of the most likely games to release in 2009 from Sqaure-Enix. This is why not all consoles are listed next to certain titles (e.g. FFXIII). In the hectic world of gaming news, I feel my daytime editor was overwhelmed and this hurt our site's reputation as a whole. In addition, we got the hopes up of several of GameGrep's members. We will do better, I promise. -GS

Apology accepted, most of those will likely hit in 2009 anyway, even if only in Japan.

Thank you, it is appreciated. Aside from checking out the sources of the submission I perused the list and actually it is not a bad one. There was some definite research done on the part of the original submitter but it was presented wrongly which is why I just had to post the correction.

I'm sure most people would accept your apology. I can understand the original submitter and daytime editor being over excited about this. Me being a RPG and SE fan, I would be too. Although I actually read the source when it was edited.

No worries, mistakes happen. Still looks like a pretty decent list, even though I'm not a fan of mobile games.

That list is actually Square Enix's Jump Festa lineup. Someone went a bit overboard and only saw the words "09" and "lineup".
