Call of Duty 6, Guitar Hero 5 Announced Via Massive Inc. Event

Titles including Guitar Hero 5 and Call of Duty 6 (apparently named Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2) have been unveiled during Activison/Blizzard's event with Massive Inc.

Details on several upcoming Activision/Blizzard titles were announced today during a joint event with in-game advertiser Massive Inc.

    Call of Duty 6 and Guitar Hero 5? I'm so, so... not surprised at all.

    Why don't they just announce Call of Duty 6,7,8,9,10,11,12 and 13 at the same time and get it over with ?

    the fokes at COD are really beginning to take the piss with the amount of re-generated games there bringing out to cash in on the original cod4 fans.

    I would definately get CODMW 2 because of new tweaked up attributes of the first. Wold at war was not what I expected. I still play cod mw 1 more than world at war.

    I would like an original game, some of these games are getting to high in there number count We'll have as many COD's and GH's as land before time movies >_>

    They are going to make COD every year it seems. That's why I would rent them.

    Annual releases come with it's downsides. Even if you have companies alternating the sequels like IW and Treyarch for CoD, I doubt it'd be anything spectacular. With CoD4, I'm pretty sure that IW spent a good few years on it, working out the kinks, long hard planning, etc..

    I sure as hell hope that BlizzActivision reconsiders within the coming years. I enjoy CoD and Guitar Hero as much as the next person, but I don't mind waiting another year or two for a more finished product.

        How do we even know that it was being developed for two years? Unless IW worked on it since the release of the first game, I doubt they had a sufficient amount of time. Besides, I was more into the first CoD (and expansion) than CoD2.

          Exactly, that's exactly how we know.

          Oddly enough if you search "Call of Duty 4 development time" on Google, you find an interview, in which someone says. We began development off the heels of CoD2, although the idea was older.

          So yeah, 2 year development time is plenty. Same with Gears of War 2 btw...

          Hm, yeah you're right. But somehow I don't think it's the same. With development, we have to take into account the planning, touch-ups, the different codes needed (especially going multi-platform) so on and so forth. Following a two-year development time, about a year and a half later they'd likely have to send early copies to reviewers, and then get it mass produced and shipped. Not to mention they have deadlines for showing off what they have thus far to the gaming press, previews of what's to come. Then again, there are a lot of different teams working on the project.

          The amount of people complaining about Gears 2, though...

    Plus, when you sell them, you only get about $5 for the game, since a new one comes out every year.
