Sega opened up their social community gaming portal, PlaySEGA today. PlaySEGA will offer a selection of arcade, word, card, puzzle, quiz, Sonic and sports titles available now and FREE to all PC and Mac users.

Classic games such as, Columns, Puyo Pop, Chu Chu Rocket, Sonic The Hedgehog and Super Monkey Ball Tip n’ Tilt are available to play through the site.

Nick Fili, network business director of Sega of Europe had this to say:

SEGA fans and new gamers alike can now come together in one place and enjoy some of our most exciting vintage and new titles.

    This is an excellent move on SEGA's part. I know they are done with hardware right now but I would love to see them bust back into the console market with something truly revolutionary. Dare to dream I guess!

    Hmm.. not bad, this is quite interesting, after reading it and checking a few stuff about PlaySEGA, this could turn out to be a decent idea. But yeah, it would be great if SEGA would burst into the scene with a new awsome console. SEGA CAN do it, if they put there minds to it. And they know how to make games, as seen in the Dreamcast console, in which most of the games(and thats a lot) were, dare i say, awsome?

    Dreamcast did have awesome games although most of the consoles of that era had awesome games. Back when shovelware was virtually non-existant.
