At a press event for Square Enix's upcoming DS RPG Dragon Quest IX, the RPG software development giant has announced that the next iteration for their wildly popular Dragon Quest series, Dragon Quest X, will be for the Nintendo Wii. Nintendo President Satoru Iwata subsequently made an appearance at the event.

Dragon Quest IX will hit Japanese shelves on March 28th for 5980 yen.

    Wow, the Wii has a good game

    Gives me something to buy for my Wii anyway, As long as it ain't like the Dragon Quest hack n slash with your Wii-Mote game thats out on the Wii, that game looks horrendous!
