Mr. Resetti is a beneficial little addition by Nintendo to the latest Animal Crossing game for the Wii. He is, however, said to be quite scary! So much in fact, Nintendo has put a warning with him to parents that he might scare their children!

Is that a smart move for a feature which is supposed to help them learn about the importance of saving your game? Let us hope it scares them into it.

It is important that players save before switching off the Wii console in order to retain data after each play session (see Saving Data, above). If players switch off without saving, the character Mr. Resetti may appear upon restarting.

Mr. Resetti's purpose is to teach players the importance of saving. However, parents should be aware that his personality and tone of voice, while intentionally humourous, are authoritative and may be disturbing to young children.

I just love that character, he looks so darn cool. xD Who cares about the kids getting scared, I'd do it on purpose just to see him in all his glory.

It is a good idea, when it was first introduced in 2003. Stop treating it like it's new news.

Definately one of the most memorable Animal Crossing characters.

I remember on AC:WW for the DS he would make you sit through a stupidly long lecture about saving your game and not turning off before you save.

    Brilliant!

I hate him, he pisses me off big time. I paid for the damn game, I shouldn't have to listen to some lecture about saving my game. I will turn it off whenever I want.

they MADE the damn game. they will add in any annoying character that they want.

And if they cared what the gamers thought they would add an option to turn the little bastard off. He and he alone is the reason I refuse to let my son play that game. I thought he was kind of funny the first time I forgot to save. I thought he was slightly more annoying when the batteries on the DS ran out and the game shut down. Then I let my son play a few times. A 3 year old knows naught of saving. And doesn't care. But I'm not going to get bitched at by a damn mole 3 or 4 times a day because he turns the game off without saving.

Either let me kill him or I won't buy your crappy game.

All he does is stop you from cheating. If it wasn't for him, people would get away with all kinds of crap by reseting their games, especially in other people's towns.

Neither I or my son play the game online. It should be an options to turn him off.

Even Rockband included a no fail mode for kids. Why can't Nintendo offer the same courtesy so that I as a parent don't have to suffer through the same asinine crap over and over again.

          BANDITO ATTACK Dec 11, 08
i'm sure there are much better games for 3 year-olds than animal crossing. that hardly seems like the target audience of this game, which requires basic reading skills!

Erm BANDITO, This is Koloths child were talking about here.

Mr. Resetti: best. Assist. Trophy. Ever.

I purposelly saw all his speeches in the N64DD version (The GCN version), then in the DS game I always remembered to save due to the convenience of saving anywhere, I've only seen his warning in City Folk and in the observation center.

OMG lol, If that ever happened I would have to give up gaming due to the sheer annoyance.

All you have to do is just save. Is that so hard?

(Although, I guess it would be extremely fustrating for games like Pokemon)

          Koloth Dec 11, 08
If you're trying to do something that requires you to complete a section which out dieing and the only way to do that is to reset the game when you do die then yes saving would be completely impossible.

Or if you're 3 and you don't understand the importance of saving your game it would be really hard.

          Big A2 Dec 11, 08
Actually, Mr. Resetti would teach 3 year olds the importance of saving.
        • 2
          Slumpy monkey Dec 11, 08
No it wouldn't, the child would just get pissed at wouldn't understand it.

          Koloth Dec 12, 08
Exactly, and then he hands the game to me to fix it and I get pissed at having to endure the annoyance for the 5th time that day.

Just asking, but has this actually happened, or are you just assuming?
        • 2
          Koloth Dec 13, 08
It actually happened. Until I just took the game away from him anyway. I haven't let him play it for close to a year now. And I won't until I'm positive I won't see that annoying damn rodent ever again.

If my father doesn't love me, I hardly need some furry red... supposedly male creature loving me. xD I'll take the drunk gay man.

Really? I'd take the small red fuzzy thing. I don't need a small red fuzzy thing made out of whatever I have by a drunk gay guy. Repeat after me: drunk. Gay. Any questions?

Parents got a warning that Resetti may be too scary for kids. This is a bit stupid. He is only a mole wielding a big pic axe that can most probably stab you in a lot of places.

    Jeez.
