Some interesting information that came from the recent scan that hit the internet. If you remember Uncharted: Drakes Fortune was said to use only 30% of the PS3's power. Well one would expect to double that in the sequal. But Naughty Dog has seemed to go a little more then triple that usage. Saying that they are currently using 100% of its power. Fallow the link to read the rest of the highlight from the Gameinformer issue.

ccording to the latest issue of Game Informer, Naughty Dog has stated that they hope to utilize nearly 100 percent of the PlayStation 3’s power for adventure sequel, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, where as its predecessor used only 30-40 percent.

Power usage doesn't always equate to super godlike looking games, i mean i don't see Uncharted 2 looking better than Killzone 2 and as we know Killzone 2 is only using 60% of the console. I think most of the power will go on rendering the snowstorms i doubt the whole game will be running at 100% though.

60% of the cell, not the ps3

IMPOSSIBLE. If this were to happen the PS3 support would be dying right now. PS2 games didn't use all of its capabilities within 3-4 years, it actually took up until God of War to actually show what the PS2 was capable of.

This is a load of rumor rubbish. In other news, God of War 3 will instantly obliterate Uncharted 2.

Just because it is using 100% doesn't mean 100% will move as development tools improve, i recall Final Fantasy X using 100% of the Playstation 2 yet development tool allowed them to double the yield of processes and minimize rendering cycles so games like God of War 2 actually looked, played and performed better in every way. This also comes don't to code the code itself may not be as optimized which is what i was saying earlier, this game could perform worse and look worse than Killzone 2 and still use 100% of the resources because it wasn't optimized as much as Killzone 2.

No, saying a game is going to use 100% of the console power means its going to use 100%. FFX from my knowledge Didn't use 100%, where you got that is beyond me, so me some proof? It is virutually impossible for a game that released in 2001, a year after PS2 released worldwide was able to produce 100% of the console. God of War 1 and 2 around 2005-2007 was able to use the PS2 power to 100% fullest.

As I said, this is a rumor and its impossible. Either that, or someone just exaggerated on the details of the games. Not even Killzone 2 is using 100%. Trust me, this is a rumor and high exaggerated speculation.

I struggle to believe in this 100% claim, source or not.
    Time will tell.

I seriously wonder how they will manage to do this, will it be mostly the graphics? Or the physics and animations? Guess we'll see.

My guess. Animation. Seeing as ND spent so much time in the animation in the first game, I can see them putting more effort this time around.

There's no doubt the animation will be more then the first, but to blow things like this out of proportion when it's literally impossible just makes one wonder if we should take it seriously. Also God of War works more on animation then Uncharted. God of War 3 will prove it again.

Well rumour or not, if it happens it will be impressive. But 100% usage does not mean it will be the best game ever, lets hope they do this right!

How would they use 100% of the PS3? I mean, wouldn't that blow your PS3 up? Haha. Well, best of luck to Naughty Dog if they get it right, if not, like Arikardo said, it won't mean it'll be the best game ever, but it will be very impressive.

Who gives a silly *bleep*? I'm just worried if they're gonna do a good job. Seriously, I'm waiting for the pseudo-programming experts to try to argue with the game's own developers in game forums...it's hilarious.
