Kojima: Big reveal is just weeks away!

Konami developer Kojima was cornered on the red carpet at the VGAs and has leaked some extremely interesting (albeit brief) info on what he and his team are up to. He mentions the Metal Gear teaser released a little while back will be explained within a few weeks, and that he's working on a new project separate from the new Metal Gear game. While he says it isn't a new Zone of Enders, he wants to continue the franchise one day.

At the Spike TV Video Game Awards this past weekend, we had a brief moment to speak with Hideo Kojima as he walked down the red carpet. Obviously, the big thing on our minds was the next Metal Gear game that he recently teased. Not surprisingly, he didn't reveal anything new at all, but he did say that it's just a matter of weeks until we find out what it is. Given the timing -- a few weeks happens to be around the start of the new year.

    Weeks? Damn. I don't think any info will be released before Feb. Wonder what the new project is. A new franchise, maybe?

    YAY! He said he wants to make another Zone of the Enders! Sadly he doesn't think its "the right time" yet (whatever the *bleep* thats supposed to mean) but I am just glad he wants to make a new one!

      It could be the same reason MGS wasn't made till like 10 years after the last MG.Maybe he doesn't feel the current consoles can make the next ZOE the way he wants it.

    Metal Gear Touch. CES is in January, is it not? That's a few weeks away. Apple always has big announcements at the same time.

          It's still rumor and speculative. Both Konami and Kojima stated that MGS is over and finished. So I don't believe it. I've seen this before and it usually turns out a mistake by someone getting false info.

          He's right, Final. It's very, very, very unlikely that an official Konami site would release the Metal Gear Teaser just to *bleep* with our heads.

          I don't think it was ever even said that MGS is over, only that Solid Snake's story is done. And even though they said that, it's not like they can't change their minds.

          If they wanted, they could make 50 more games featuring Solid Snake...

          I just find it strange that such a thing would happen immediately after Kojima says it will be "weeks" until the announcement...Either someone at Konami is undermining him, he's going senile, or it's just some ploy to completely throw people off.

          LOL On_Vacation you're so Naive. You really haven't seen many stuff that get posted and then taken out or edited due to false information? It happened many times for games, and rumors. I'm sorry if I'm not jumping the bandwaggon of "Oh hey, it was posted by some editor on KONAMI Site, It must be true". What you guys are doing is assuming. Until more info is released, especially when Kojima stated the next project will be announced in a week or more, it's a rumor.

          Fatal does bring in an interesting point with "....or it's just some ploy to completely throw people off."

    So going to the official Kojima Productions website, clicking the green symbol, being redirected to Konami Touch productions, seeing an iPod, all while seeing Metal Gear Solid Touch along the way means nothing? Doesn't it ever get lonely in your head?

      mgs touch, this is gonna be hella lame. i mean, 'touch'? how creative guys, you managed to give another game a crappy console-identifying subtitle, good job!
