Tiga has expressed its condolences to all the people at Free Radical Design, the Nottingham based independent studio, which reportedly closed its doors yesterday.

Richard Wilson, CEO of Tiga, said: "On behalf of all Tiga members, I would like to say how sorry the whole industry is to hear of the fate of Free Radical Design. The studio has employed some very talented teams developing first class games over the years."

It kinda sucks that their last game was Haze, it was not a game that summed up the talents of the team. I guess developers should learn from this, make every game the best you can possibly make cause you never know when it will all end. Free Radical will be remembered fondly for TimeSplitters, it will be sad to see them go as i was kinda looking forward to seeing how they could improve Haze for the sequel and obviously see TimeSplitters 4.

I hope that the lost employees are able to join up with Dave Doak's new company or at least find homes in some of the other great devs over yonder (Lionhead, Codemasters, something).

I hope the IP's get sold off to somebody reputable. I wouldn't mind if Nintendo or Microsoft bought up the TimeSplitters franchise (TimeSplitters developed by Rare or Retro Studios would be interesting)

Well I didn't see how Haze would get a sequel after seeing the bad scores and sales. Oh well. Thanks for the games FR.
