Another detail overlooked in Take-Two's press release yesterday -- BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams will be released in 2009! We pretty much assumed as such anyway, but confirmation is always handy.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive is planning to release BioShock 2 in 2009. Addressing the company's financial results in an open statement, Take-Two Chief Executive Officer Ben Feder said, "We're excited about our 2009 pipeline, which will include [many titles]…as well as new offerings from such powerful franchises as BioShock, Mafia and the 2K Sports roster.

BioShock 2, subtitled "Sea of Dream" was revealed in October through the PlayStation 3 ending of the original game; however, no platforms for BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams were announced. IGN has contacted 2K representatives for additional details.

Sea of dreams? Sounds like a Little Mermaid game.

I would have gone with Return to Rapture, or Big Daddy Rising, or The Tides of Rapture.

    Something cool like that.

Would you really want it to be called Big Daddy Rising? That almost sounds like a parody.

Or even better, just keep it as "Bioshock 2". If the want to get a little risque, then they can make it "Bioshock II" lol .

      LOL... Big Daddy Rising.

I agree Kyle. They should have just kept it Bioshock 2 tbh.

I've heard this is the same as Bioshock, that meaning its going to be a 360 TIMED exclusive for about 7-9months, then it'll be released on PS3.

You sure? That doesn't sound right, considering the trailer that was advertising the next game was on the PS3 version only. Still its possible, and very lame.

Thats only because they hadnt considered a sequel until some time after the launch on the 360. And the video can be downloaded on the Marketplace.

    *BioShock 2 [PC, XBOX360]
*BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams [PS3]
Anyone care to tell me the difference between these two versions? And if it's no different, why isn't the PS3 with the other two platforms as well?

Seems odd the PS3 is getting it's own separate exclusive.

But that's a good thing that PS3 is getting a exclusive. 360 has far much more exclusives than PS3

That's not really my point. If Bioshock 2 is multiplatform why doesn't it get put with the others, instead of making some spinoff with Bioshock 2 in the beginning making it seem it's a sequel to the original? Makes no sense.

Basically meaning that Bioshock 2 itself will be a timed exclusive for probably 7-9months and then they'll release an updated PS3 version entitled Sea of Dreams.

Then the PS3 should technically be with 360 and PC for Bioshock 2 then separate. Which was my whole point, so thanks for proving it.

Good that the PS3 is getting another exclusive, probably just has content that the 360 will have avaliabel for download a few months after release. I will definately pick this up seeing as i have completed Bioshock 1 on the 360, might pick Bioshock up on the PS3 aswell actually...Hmmmmm.
