There's been reports of mishaps from adults to kids alike getting too excited with the Nintendo Wii console and remote which causes property damage, like TV's or possibly themselves with the poor designing of the Wii strap. But reports from The Sun come in that 10 Brits come in on a weekly basis due to mishaps and injuries from using the Wii Remote. The patients range from 8-13 year olds including adults as well.

And apparently this makes hospitals more busy during the holiday season even going as far to have new symptoms like "Wii-itis".
This could lead to more issues for Nintendo, and hopefully they can solve this Wiipidemic(also known as Wii Epidemic).

The growing toll has prompted NHS doctors to warn of the dangers.
Wii-itis sufferers usually have excruciating pain in the right shoulder or knee.

A rheumatology consultant said: "Most are admitted after playing the tennis and running games which involve sudden movements and violent tendon stretching."

Dr Dev Mukerjee, of Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, Essex, said: "There has been a 100 per cent increase in patients complaining of Wii-itis"

    Some people are so reckless.

The only time some one even got a little bit hurt with my Wii was when my mum was playing. Go figure.

I thought The Sun is tabloid newspaper, shouldn't this be put in rumors?

In the article itself, they use the terms Wii-knee, Wii-itis, and the headline itself says "TEN people a week in Britain are hospitalised" when that is not quoted anywhere within. (Also, I believe hospitalized is with a 'z' not an 's')

The Sun reports Eddie Murphy as the Riddler. These people just aren't right in the head over there (or everyone on the internet who re-posted their "news" isn't right in the head, or both).

The possible choice for the Riddler would be Matthew Lesko. Have you seen those infomercial? What an actor. He even dresses like the Riddler.

GET MY BOOK! YOU DON'T HAVE TO BELIEVE ME! THE GOVERNMENT IS READY TO GIVE YOU MONEY! IT'S IN THE BOOK!

Matthew rules, too many infomercials take themselves too seriously.

You can spell it either way in this country.

True. Some words are spely slightly differently than in our country. 'S' is replaced with a 'z' or the other way around.

I heard about this in some newspaper here in Australia, pretty strange if true.

The doctors are most probably right but 99.9% of kids and adults don't care to be honest. It has warnings about fits and how you should take a break every 15 minutes inside every game booklet but no body follows it.

I thought it was something about taking a 15 minute break ever hour.

Anyway, you're right. No-one gives a shit about them.

Inside the booklet it says you should have a break after every 15 minutes to avoid stress and any other illnesses.
