A customised Halo 3 Xbox 360 console, signed by Bungie Studios has qualified to be one of the most expensive consoles ever to be sold on earth. The price of the bid is now over $20,117.11 in dollars & £10,094.02 in pounds.

SYDNEY 9 May 2007 - Gamers all over the world have demonstrated their excitement and passion for all things Halo as the Konsoles for Kids charity auction for the "Halo 3" Xbox 360 console has seen bidding on eBay skyrocket to over $21,000.

With one day to go until bidding closes, the "Halo 3" Xbox 360 console - exclusively customised with Halo artwork and signed by the game's development team at Bungie Studios - could possibly be one of the most expensive consoles ever to be sold in the world.

The Konsoles for Kids campaign began March 23 featuring a star studded array of Xbox 360 consoles auctioned off on a weekly basis with all proceeds donated to the Make-A-wish foundation. In addition to the money raised on eBay, Microsoft Australia will donate $1000 to Make-A-Wish for every customised Xbox 360 console that falls under the virtual hammer.

Nick Segger, Xbox Group Marketing Manager, says, "Xbox would like to thank everyone who participated in the auctions for lending their support to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The response to the whole Konsoles for Kids campaign has been fantastic, and the way Halo fans have reacted to the ‘Halo 3' console has just been overwhelming. We're very hopeful of setting a new world record for a console sold."

The "Halo 3" console is the final auction in the Konsoles for Kids campaign. The total amount raised for the campaign to date is $20,250.00 with the amount expected to double after the "Halo 3" console auction concludes. To see all the auction results, please visit www.xbox.com.au/charityauction.

The final chapter in the Halo trilogy, "Halo 3" is the upcoming blockbuster game due for release exclusively on Xbox 360 later this year. For more on "Halo 3", please visit www.xbox.com/en-AU/halo3.

Woah, a seriously huge amount of cash there, and a funky looking Halo 3 console too. Glad it is a charity auction, otherwise I wouldn't really support it.

No one would pay 20 000 if it wasn't.

Wow. Seriously, who would bid that much money on a console? I mean, it's nice and all, but that is a lot of money for just a console. Meh.... at least it's a charity auction.

The person who did had the money and a desire to donate. I don't think it was about the console at all.

Yeah I saw that on ebay. The money will go for a good cause so this is great news.

I always like stuff like this. Videogames can't be too bad if they raise so much money for charity huh? If I had the money though I would have won this auction :-\

Wow, 20,000 dollars. Some people should get off of eBay. At least the money is going to a good cause and not into some Bungie employee's pocket.

Is that an Elite System ?

That's too much for a console. Though it looks cool, and is eye-candy for Halo fans, 20,000 is definately a waste of cash.
