Lady Inserts Credit Card Into Wii Disc Slot Rather Than Entering Its Details!

What's the world coming to? A lady that seems to have lived under a rock for the past couple of years was gifted a Wii for her kids for Christmas and so she decided to make a purchase from the Virtual Console.

The inexperienced lady called her neighbour and asked him how to make a purchase over the Virtual Console. When the neighbour prompted the lady to insert her credit card details, the lady took it literally and actually inserted the card in the Wii disc slot. Since the first card didn't work, the lady then inserted another two in hopes it does actually work this time around.

The lady is now furious and had contacted her neighbour threatening that he pays for her Wii since she followed his instructions.

Anywho, I got a call today from the mom telling me that the Wii is not working. I asked what was wrong and you won't believe it.

    Holy shit! I actually feel sorry for this person.
    I mean, losing a Wii plus three credit cards in one shot? I definitely don't want that to happen to me.
    Anyway, the moral is, people like this shouldn't try current gen technology.

        Ditto. At first I was like "I pity her, for being so uniformed, it has to suck...."....Then I read about her wanting to sue the neighbor that tried to help her (unbeknownst to said neighbor, the woman was very computer illiterate).

        Now I'm just like "Serves you right for being a moron".

      Yeah, really. Of course it's not her fault. What a moron. The least she could've done was asked for help if she didn't know what was meant in the first place, or even after the first inserted card "didn't work" properly! Funny find.

      Well, more acurrately it is more that an idiot would blame others for their own incompetant mistakes. It is no wonder that we get lawsuits over hot cups of coffee. And people getting fat from to much fast food. There is no culpability in this world.

        While thats true, I believe in giving people the benefit of the doubt. Simply because some does something stupid once or twice, that doesn't make them overall a stupid person.

    Blaming the neighbour makes sense when you consider it. If she was going to take legal action, and let's face it we see a lot of silly cases, one of them might actually work.

    You also have to laugh when technology is evolving so rapidly that a person feels a game console can do anything, including being able to read credit cards and transfer the information. Not a bad idea though, got to admire her initiative.

      Meh, I get both of your points, but the woman just plain screwed up out of ignorance and stupidity. OK, one can forgive an uniformed person for thinking the console can read credit cards. But she tried to solve the problem by putting two more cards in....

      First part is ignorance compounding by (possibly momentary) stupidity.

      Second part (extra cards) removed all doubt about stupidity possibly being more than momentary.

      Third part (threatening to sue) just made her a pathetic person. A, ermmmm, bitch if you will >_>

    OMG I can't believe that someone could actually do that! Stick a credit card into a wii. I have tried playing Music CD's in mine but, putting a credit card into one that is a first for me.
