A new Soul Calibur game was revealed for the Wii in this weeks Famitsu magazine. The game "Soul Calibur Legends" is said to be a deviation from the standard fighting genre and instead is described as an action adventure game, very little information is yet known about the game, which makes it look like a release date is way off.

The Wii isn't known just yet for its vast array of 3D fighters. And that's not going to change even with the announcement of Soul Calibur Legends for the system.

First appearing in this week's issue of Famitsu, Legends is described as an action adventure game rather than a fighter. Set in the 16th century, players will be able to meet characters from the Soul Calibur world and experience sword-based combat that makes use of the Wiimote.

Famitsu was able to unveil nothing more than a logo for the game and did not even provide a release date. We presume this means a release is a ways off.

I hope this slight change in genre won't ruin it in any way, but I'm glad that there is a Soul Calibur game coming to the Wii.

I hope this is like MK Shaolin Monks only focusing on every Soul Calibur character instead of two.

Interesting. It could be fun if they make good use of the Wii Remote.

The sort of adventure mod in Soul Calibur 3 was actually quite fun so this title might turn out pretty good, but guess we'll have to wait and see.

Like Chronicles of the Sword? I loved that minigame in SCIII. I agree with bakfromon, though, to make it like Shaolin Monks...that would be sweet

YES! I'm glad they're bring this franchise to the Wii. I just hope gameplay doesn't change too much because of the Wii-interface.

I'm not a big fan of fighting games, but this change to action-adventure has sparked my interest.

Let's hope this game turns out great.

I bought Soul Calibur II just because of Link >_>, and I couldn't stop playing it. I hope we have a "special surprise" in this one too.
