That's right, once again Jack Thompson is the man in the spotlight. He believes he deserves his job back and Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has give him the chance with the ability to put in a petition. He has until the 18th of February to do so.

Jack Thompson is hoping that the United States Supreme Court will consider his appeal of the Florida Supreme Court ruling that disbarred him for life.

Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas has granted Thompson's request, meaning that the embattled anti-game violence advocate will have until February 18th to petition for cert with the Supreme Court.

    Harsh, SJ, harsh.

Give him his license, just ban him from cases concerning video games.

    Problem solved.

I hope the supreme court doesn't even bother with him. I'm sure their are more important cases than his.

He insults judges and makes a damn fool of himself, and there's a chance he could get his licence back? What the hell kind of law does he practice?

    Crap...

I foresee problems down the line...

I don't want Jack dead, I just want him to understand that he's got a snowball's chance in hell of getting any real major victory over the video game industry.

You know, Jack doesn't bother me one bit. He doesn't get my panties in a twist (though I'm a guy and don't wear panties). He doesn't get my emotions and make me angry at the very mention of his name. He doesn't have an iota of control over my life or emotions. Let him have his license. My life will go on. I will continue to enjoy playing video games so long as they are entertaining to me.

In fact, many lives will go on if he gets his license. What's the big deal? You say "Are you serious? Do you see how stupid it is?" And I say back, Yeah I see how stupid and ridiculous his actions are. But I see just about 100 times worse every day as people all over the world act with similar ignorance and stupidity and foolishness. Yet you don't see me making a big deal about it, do you? If I did . . . I'd have no time to live my life. And I rather like living my life, thank you. I have better things to do with my time than pay attention to foolishness.

Okay, end rant there. Just putting forth a little parable, example, of some truth many gamers should follow.

I agree 100% man. My problem is this; If we simply give in to Jack, the video game terrorist, then a whole boatload of other "professionals" will try to get involved and voice their ridiculous opinions.

It's simple enough, I know I shouldn't let Jack get under my skin but, what can I say? He's asking for it. What if he was going after a different hobby? Like, you can get broken bones from playing sports or hell, anything short of doing jigsaw puzzles. Should we go after those too?

Look at it from my point of view, I see games as an outlet. If I get angry, rather than attacking the person and being sent to jail, why not relay some of that anger into kicking zombie ass in Left 4 Dead? Or saving the galaxy in Mass Effect?

Jack is someone who has been at this for years, you'd think he'd get a clue.
