Aspiring artists are being given the chance to have one of their very own custom designed guns included as unlockable content in the upcoming Army of Two. Along with designing the gun, a 500-word description will have to be written describing how the gun works. The contest is only open to those 17 or older who live in North America. The contest runs until June 15th. Check out the official website for more details.

EA has announced that fans of lethal weaponry with a penchant for art can design a gun to feature as unlockable content in its upcoming shooter, Army of Two.

A quick glance over Army of Two's official website shows that two winners will see their weapon design modelled and included as an "unlockable element in and available to users who preorder the Army of Two video game for the Xbox 360".

Budding gun creators should their weapon design to the website, along with a 500-word description explaining how it works - things like how it shoots, reload times and the ammo capacity.

Unfortunately, the contest is only open to North American residents aged 17 or over. Submitted weapons appear on the site where visitors can vote on their favourite. The top ten are then judged by EA officials on their originality, appropriateness, visual appeal and feasibility of in-game integration.

EA's competition runs until June 15 and winners will be announced on the site on June 19.

Woah that is a nice opportunity for weapon fanatics. Haha expect a load of nerds sending in really detailed descriptions and designs for their weapon submittions, then some random guy sends in a basic gun design with a simple description and wins.

There's a few submissions that are pretty detailed. There's a lot that has very little thought put into it. ie: someone submitted an actual picture of a crossbow they most likely found on google images. Someone else submitted something they did in mspaint which probably took them 2mins. Although, when sorting by highest rating it's actually on page two of about 10.

That's the problem with popular contests such as this. People will vote for the worse submissions just to screw the developers over.

Only 17 or older ? God damn it. -_-

Hopefully the developers will at least ask for a rough sketch for them.

Pretty cool idea, really, but online popularity contests = instant fail.

    I could lie and say I'm 17. I'm 17 in 3 months anyways.

See with this I could draw something amazing.
