Electronic Theatre reports on Square Enix's confirmation of a European launch date for Nippon Ichi's Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice, a PLAYSTATION3 exclusive release.

Welcome to the twisted world of the Nether Institute, Evil Academy where good is bad and bad is good. In this school a good student is somebody that excels in delinquent activities such as skipping classes or not doing their homework, whereas a bad student arrives to school early and does their homework on time...

Oh, good for EU Disgaea fans (those that have PS3s that is XD).

It is pretty good, I have't finished the mainstory (even though I'm way more than strong enough to do so), but I like it more than Disgaea 2, I think.

Disgaea games (and really, tactics/strategy games in general) don't focus much on graphics. They're quite vibrant in terms of special effects (and if you're a completionist you will play this game for hundreds of hours), but graphics are on the short side. They certainly aren't distracting though.

Its a great game. Yeah the graphics are nothing to write home about, but the game is more than worth the money.

This game is very long if you like grinding levels and the like, 300 hours plus if that is your thing but if you had even a single care for graphics and own a HDTV this game will look terrible, this game would run on the Playstation 1.

Chances are thats not happening, NIS is strictly sony exclusive. Except for Disgaea DS, other than that they've pretty much been in support of sony.

They will most likely go to MS, they just want the money, nothing else tbh. And the PS3 isn't selling to good.

You don't know what you're talking about, do you? Nippon-Ichi has been been almost exclusively Sony for years and if they really wanted money they wouldn't be developing and producing games in such a niche market.

Even more, the PS3 is selling just fine. I don't know where you get the idea that it isn't.

I'm telling you, it's the gaming market's newfound disease to hate on the PS3 any chance they get. It's getting ridiculous lately...

The fact that Final Fantasy went multi platform, an the fact that PS3 is selling lower than the 360 and Wii, I think they will. Don't get me wrong, I'm a PS3 fan-boy here.

The PS3 is selling at a higher rate than the 360. Final Fantasy went multi-platform around 6 or 7 years ago.

Besides, Square Enix isn't the company that made this game (oddly, they confirmed the release. I wonder if they're the publisher of NIS games in the UK?)

Besides, if they went to any other platform, it would be the Wii. Graphically, that makes the most sense, and it's already implied that Nintendo would be their other route anyhow. Disgaea 1 has a DS release, for example.

Correction: PS3 was selling more than the 360, 360 had outsold PS3 in the last few months of 08 (including a HUGE difference in November) Which made it surpass PS3 in year-long sales.

Doesn't erase the fact that it was still selling more during the earlier parts of the year. Just because it doesn't all-out squash competition doesn't automatically make it sh*t. The fact that a year-behind console actually came close to outselling another alone says as much.

Geez, doom and goddamn gloom with you people...and you had the guts to call me pessimistic at one point!

NIS doesn't have enough money of influence or something, to ship to europe, so they're getting SE's help to do it.

During the PlayStation2 years, it used to be KOEI that published Nippon Ichi games in Europe. I don't know why Square Enix have got the licence now - they've only been publishing in Europe themselves for about 18 months... I'll look into it!

    Red, I own a PS3, I don't think it's total shit.

I was simply pointing out that currently, the PS3 isn't outselling the 360.

That's cool, I've no problems with that. I just wanted get it through that despite the fact that it was outsold (only by a total of about one million; not much considering global lifetime sales), it's really starting to become a real contender. I have no doubts that it will really start to shine in 2009. I just fell that people are getting too caught up with all this "it was outsold!" stuff. Like I said, it outsold for the better part of 2008, and being a year younger, the fact that it came that close to outselling the 360 in its second year is astounding considering the circumstances.

I guess I directed that above comment to the wrong guy, eh?

I was speaking directly to the fact that it's total sales from launch to now are greater than the 360's at the same point in time during its lifespan.
