Game developer Softmax has confirmed that Magna Carta: Crimson Stigma (Magna Carta 2) is still in development to be released on the XBOX 360. This should be good news for RPG fans amid many recent project cancellations.

Atlus has always specialized in bringing off-the-wall, unique RPGs to America, so this game will likely be one to watch. In the mean time, let's wonder why the Xbox 360 has become the bastion for JRPG games this generation. With Final Fantasy, Star Ocean, and the Tales Of franchises in tow, alongside countless other JRPGs, there are few current-generation entries into the genre that don't hit the Xbox 360. Weird, isn't it? The 360 is basically a Suikoden, Persona, Wild Arms, and Breath of Fire away from being a PS2—in spite of cancellations that would say otherwise.

But Magna Carta: Tears of Blood on the PS2 was so bad. =/

Also, Ars Technica, this isn't a JRPG.

LIES! Magna Carta was a good game! Different, and had its flaws, but it was by no means bad.

I never played the ps2 version. I did buy Magna Carta for pc, but I still have it new in the box. I ordered it from some software site in Asia. After reading the problems people had trying to understand it as it is in Korean, I shelved it. Maybe one day I'll see if there's an language translation available for it. If anyone has anything for this, please let me know.

Magna Carta had a good concept, but they failed to deliver. It could've been sooo awesome too. =/

Isn't this the one with the really girly men? Like so much that it makes the Final Fantasy boys look like football players?
