Final Fantasy XIII Website Updated - HiRes Artwork, New Screenshots & Battle Theme Revealed!

With Final Fantasy XIII being released this year in Japan, Square seem to be stepping up their game, today releasing a fully interactive flash website for Final Fantasy XIII.

The site includes numerous new screenshots as well high resolution artwork of the 3 named characters: Lightning; Snow Villiers; Oerba Dia Vanille.

Also included on the site are 2 new pieces of music, one of which is supposedly the new battle theme, the song that can make or break a Final Fantasy title;

        Yeah - The site has 2 pieces of music.

        The battle theme is the one with the techno start.

      I don't know, it just doesn't have a "battle theme" sort of feel to it for me...

        I think it has the feel of a boss battle theme - at least the techno bit at the start does anyways.

    The shots look Amazing, this might be the first FF I will get, it looks, astonishing. It must be one of the best graphics games to come.

    Love the piano and the battle music is pretty good. Sounds a thousand times better than any music that was on that crap shoot of a game in ff12

    Both bits of music are fantastic, the battle theme isn't quite as good as the trailer version was, but is still impressive.

    And that's why Masashi Hamauzu > Nobuo Uematsu. Then again, isn't everyone? [/hate mongering]

    Good to see they're releasing some of the more recent images quite promptly. Desperately trying to drive home the fact that the game will be out this year.

      Only the theme song (I think?).

      Uematsu hasn't composed an FF soundtrack since IX and tbh, he's lost his edge.

        Yes, as far as we've been told, only the theme.

        But since Hamauzu's career was developed by Uematsu and the influences are obvious, I don't see a real issue myself.
