With the rock music genre taking off in North America with the hit Guitar Hero; EA and Harmonix's game Rock Band has advertised prices at GameStop. However, a representative for Rock Band said at the time,

quote
Let me nip this one in the bud right now. Those are estimated prices and not official in any even remote way. We haven't even decided on prices ultimately, much less announced them.

I think he might want to let GameStop know that as well, then.

  • Rock Band - $59.99
  • Rock Band drums set - $79.99
  • Rock Band microphone - $49.99
  • Rock Band guitar controller - $59.99
  • Rock Band wireless guitar - $79.99

Joystiq calculated the price to be $309.95 wired / $349.95 wireless (not including taxes) to start up your very own PS3 / 360 band.

Well, that's only if you want EVERY piece of equipment. I will be able to use my Guitar Hero II controller on the 360 version too. Those who don't want to spend that amount of money can just start up a band with other people who DO have the necessary items.

I think I will play every role though . I will have to work on my singing skills. Members of Neoseeker can start up their own bands together! Should be awesome.

Anyone wanna join "The Raliffés" ?

Wait, so you can use your Guitar from the 360's Guitar Hero, but alone it's $60-80? That's rather stupid. And as Vito said, you don't need every item and you can always get the people using them in your band to get them.
    Seems like fun.

Yep. It was originally reported that the controller wouldn't work, but then the developers corrected them and said you could use your old Guitar Hero controller. Saves me a bit of money!

People might as well just buy Guitar Hero II. It isn't much more then just the supposed price of the controller alone, plus you get an awesome game out of it.

Looks like fun, but it's costly.
