Sega has announced a new on-rails shooter for the Wii called Ghost Squad. The game will feature four modes of play, and online functionality is included.

According to SEGA, the Wii iteration of Ghost Squad will bring about "a number of new Wii-specific gameplay modes and features." The title will, of course, utilize the Wii remote to shoot on-screen enemies, defuse bombs, rescue hostages, and more.

"Ghost Squad brings the classic light gun blaster experience that SEGA made popular in the arcades to the Wii," said Scott A. Steinberg, vice president of marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "With a more robust multiplayer experience than even the arcade version and numerous unlockable items and stages adding replay value, Ghost Squad will be the ultimate shooter experience for the Nintendo Wii console.

That game looks exciting; especially for one of the Wii's first on-rail shooters.

Ah, a rail-shooter? Looks cool, even though I'm not really a fan of these types of games. The online should be fun too. =D

I'm especially looking forward to the multiplayer. Four players can all play together on the same full screen since it's an on-rails shooter.

I'm also hoping for deathmatches and team deathmatches for the online mode.

Looks great, I'm all for these sort of games. I hope the lifespan isn't cut down so much, but with online functionality, that is doubtful.

I think this one will be a very good game. I can't wait, and 4 players in one screen sounds crazy, but cool.
