Achievement points - we all love them, we all strive for them. But man, are they friggin annoying to earn sometimes! GameLemon gives some examples of the more frustrating ones based on the unbalanced number of points receieved for all your hard work.

The problem comes when you go back and look at your list of achievements and see that there are some that are worth 30, 50, 100 or 150 points. Those are the ones you want. You probably also make the assumption if you don’t look at the list that some tasks would be worth a lot. For example, you would think, that completing 50 horde waves would be worth 100 points or at least 50. It’s not easy to do, and you need to have four or five players that work together and stick through all the waves. Some maps, like “Avalanche”, if you have a strategy and work as a team you can accomplish this goal. But to reward you with so little for so much — ridiculous.

Is it me, or are all game journalists such as these guys shit at videogames? And why do they care so much about achievement points? He made it sound like his life and the lives of his teammates had suddenly been cut short because he didn't get the gamerscore he was expecting. I'm sorry but i'm disagreeing with this guy 100%. I think achievements are being handed out far to easily in today's games. It's pretty much just complete the game and you get around 75% of the gamerscore.

Besides, if this guy wants an achievement to bitch about, he should go play Quake 4.
Number One: Achieved the number one rank on the All Gametypes leaderboard. That's right. You need to be 1st place in the world on every Quake 4 game type and all you get is a 30G achievement.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, tell others how to.

Ever try to flip that phrase around, wise guy?

Those who can game AND write, do. Those who have trouble spelling their name on rainy days, just push buttons and criticize others.

        Try THAT on for size.

Firstly, big congratulations on being the most presumptuous ass on GameGrep.

Secondly, how about those that don't want to, read and comment on. Those who do, get offended by passing comments about them because they know what's said is true and like to continue whining when they're called out on whining about things people have already made their mind up on, thus relegating their whining from journalism to pointless, because they have a pathetic need for people they don't know to validate their opinion.

Not the best in the context of what you were going for, but the basic point that you getting offended by the comment is nothing short of imbecilic and, quite frankly, your need to continue whining is just pathetic was put across rather well, I thought.

Jog on, wise guy. And please, leave your little insults back in the '80s where they were last used.

While I don't think achievements are easier, I don't find them to be too hard as a whole. It's really just there for extra time in the games, replay value and such.

I personally don't mind having some of the achievements to be hard to get. It adds more of a challenge or even replay value to the game and makes it more enjoyable.

I hate some of the ending achievements. You play the whole game over again and you got the same ending. Happened to me playing spiderman web of shadows

I don't mind achievements taking skill to achieve, but most achievements in Gears of War 2 just require you to not have a life and unfortunately, I have one.
