Darius Rucker, frontman for Hootie & the Blowfish, is a dedicated gamer. He's also buddies with Tiger Woods, and revealed an interesting fact about the golf champ's gaming habits.

"We’ve talked about playing online, but he likes to play those shoot-em-up games. I play those but I’m not very good at those," Rucker said.

        I don't get it

I think Akira is a ballbag, because Halo is the closest thing to a shooter as ever, but then iLLmatic's comment makes it seem like he's right. Unless Shoot-Em-Up and First-Person-Shooter are different?

Shoot-em-ups (or shmups to some) are usually side-scrolling shooting games. They can also be like Blast Factor or Super Stardust HD for PS3 or Geometry Wars for 360.

          They're completely different.

Shoot-em-up Wikipedia. Stuff like Ikaruga, Blast Works, Touhou Project, Gradius, R-Type, etc. are shoot-em-ups.

This is obvious is it not?

If he plays golf for a living, why would he play want to go home and play it?

I suppose it is, but at least he's a gamer. Plus, it's better than if he were a Snood addict.

I actually like golf games more than "shoot-em-ups." I love the Darius Burger King commercial screenshot for this article
