Electronic Theatre reports on the unveiling of this year's BAFTA Videogame Awards host; popular Irish comedian Dara O'Briain. The awards take place on March 10th.

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts today announced that Dara O'Briain will host this year's GAME British Academy Video Games Awards.

Arguably the most successful Irish comedian to have hit the UK for a decade, Dara has hosted, and appeared on, a number of TV shows and toured extensively across England and Ireland. Evening Standard journalist, Bruce Dessau once wrote of him: "If you don't laugh at O'Briain, check your pulse - you must be dead!"

    Like who? Souja Boy?

I think Dara has been picked because he is known to the TV world and is one of the best presenters around, along with his popularity with the world and his own fanbase, I'm sure he was picked purely because he can bring the ratings in

Fantastic! I love Dara's work. He is so funny. I think what ShadowJ is correct though, choose a well-known comedian will lure in people, even if they don't enjoy games, but they enjoy watching Dara.
