Kids are so unruly these days. Zachery Moir started yelling at his mother and calling her names when she unplugged his Xbox 360 and told him to come downstairs and eat dinner. When the son came downstairs, there were more names tossed around, and he threw a taco in her face.

54-year-old Dena Moir told Volusia County deputy sheriffs that she called her son downstairs for dinner and got no response. So the woman went upstairs to her son's room and unplugged his Xbox, presumably while he was still playing. According to Moir, her son Zachery, 19, then shoved her and called her names before ordering her out of his room.

As she was cleaning the kitchen, her son finally came down to eat. She apparently pushed him aside because he was in her way, and deputies say he reacted by hitting her arm, calling her a "*bleep*," and throwing a taco in her face.

Christ man woman, he's 19 years old.

I think he's old enough to know that his food will get cold if he doesn't go to get it...

I agree with Crux, why the hell was a 19 year old being told to come down for his dinner like a good boy? He should be making it!

LMAO not sure why you would assume my kids don't love me. I'm sure they will appreciate the power I give them by teaching them to be self sufficient, and not little whiny shits who get everything handed to them on a silver platter.....tough love man, tough love! LMAO

Simply kicking your children out of the door, isn't what I would consider love.
Sure encouraging isn't bad, but just kicking them out and shutting the door on them isn't nice. What if there just simply not read to leave yet? Parenting is a job for life, not just up until their 19 and then your free. You have to constantly be there for them and support them when needed, and I'm not calling you a bad parent, I'm just saying that I wouldn't just kick my child out at 19, if they wanted to, then sure. But if there reluctant too I wouldn't just simply reject them and chuck them out.

Weather kik is joking or not, I don't think it's Slumpy Monkey's business to be telling him how to raise his kids.

Also, I don't love RCG....... I know that was really pointless on my part but I just felt like saying so.

Well I think I rubbed the late teenagers the wrong way....LMAO I'm not gonna instigate anything else here because people are taking it WAY too serious.....but no matter what there is always a limit folks.

As long as the kids are a productive part of the household there shouldn't be any objections, but if they're just mooching off of their parents well into their 20's and even their 30's.....there's really no excuse for the parents or the kids behavior at that point.

Not sure why anyone would want to be living at home at 19 anyway, living with mom always killed my sex life. LMAO

Meh. I think they're both idiots, tbh.

The mum shouldn't turn off his console with no warning for such a petty reason. (What the hell was she expecting? Of course he's going to be pissed off!)

The kid shouldn't be an immature idiot who pushes his mum around and throws tacos in her face.

But all in all, they're just idiots. I don't think the kid caused a big enough crime to warrant jail time. Not unless the pushing and taco-throwing involved his mother getting seriously hurt (which it doesn't sound like it did).

... all over a kid not eating his dinner on time. Pfft.

What Gothic said, however to point something out. I'm 21, I live with my mum and she cooks my dinner...however she doesn't come upstairs and switch my console or PC off. If I don't go downstairs when dinner is ready then it is put in the microwave if it can be reheated or thrown away and I'm told to get my own dinner.

In this situation the mother has babied the son and that is shown by the son being an immature brat...discipline the brat...hell if I started calling my mum names then I'd get the same back or a clip round the ear hole...the woman needs a backbone

Well she shoved him out of the way when he came down, so she did show some back bone.

¬_¬ No that's an example of a parent being immature. If someone shoved you then your initial reaction is to either shove them back or throw something at them whether it be a taco or a fist.

I am not saying the kid is in the right because I ain't but what I am saying is that the parent was fully in the wrong in the first place. She sparked the whole reaction off by switching off his console when the kid didn't do what she said. Like I said if that happened in my house my mum would have simply said "suit yourself" and left me to do what I was doing with the consequence of me feeding myself instead of having my dinner cooked for me.

Instead of showing him discipline when he was calling her names, she shrugged it off and went downstairs. When he was ready and came downstairs she then shoved him out the way and incited his reaction to call names and throw a taco.

She showed no backbone as a parent whatsoever, yes each parent has their own way of parenting and different methods but this isn't parenting, it is two kids that are old enough to know better.

What a waste of a good taco...

Anyhow, Gothic Girl points it out the best: they're both idiots. The mother should have considered allowing the boy to finish his game before sending him down, instead of disregarding any sort of manners. Meanwhile, the boy shouldn't have thrown Mexican cuisine in his mother's face. Seems pretty immature, even for a 19 yr. old. And again, the mother's stupid for bringing the matter to police officers, instead of giving him her own punishment. Why have your own son arrested over something so petty? Come the *bleep* on.

Also, had to lol at the smug mugshot.
