Sega has announced a release date for the latest title in the Sonic series, Sonic and the Black Knight.

March 12th for Japan and March 10th everywhere else.

Sonic and the Black Knight offers a major twist on Sega's mascot series, placing Sonic and friends in the world of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. Sonic, having been summoned to this new world in order to thwart the plans of King Arthur, adventures as an apprentice knight. The game combines the high speed action for which the series is known with new "sword actions," which make use of Sonic's new sword both for attacking foes and for navigating the world.

March 10th eh? I'll have to try to rent it around that time. The game looks interesting, but I wonder if giving him a lethal weapon will deter youngsters.

Considering it's prequel was one of the best Sonic 3d games, I wouldn't say that too loud.
