Wii continues to gain strength as a total 10.2 Million Wii Games were sold in the US alone. Wii sales have been up 55 Percent of all other consoles. In December, Nintendo moved 2.15 Million Wii units.

In all, Christmas was generally kind to the video game sector as the rest of retail struggled. Game sales rose 15 percent to $2.75 billion from a year ago. Top-selling games in December include Activision's "Call of Duty: World at War" and MTV Networks' "Guitar Hero" and "Rock Band."

2009 Line up for the Wii looks amazing. Can't wait for Conduit, Mad World, Sadness, Fatal Frame IV (hopefully we will get it), Pikmin 3, whatever new Zelda game is coming out, and No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.

However, I have to agree that a lot of those sales are Wii Music and Wii Fit... Seriously Nintendo, drop these "Wii *insert shitty game here*" games and make room for the hard core games listed above.

They're never gonna drop the "Wii *insert shitty game here" games because they make millions off of them. ):

You have a good point. While they suck and Nintendo knows it (at least they should based on their terrible reviews), they make enough money that it's worth keeping them despite that. Awell, no amount of shovel ware is going to get rid of the amount of GOOD games that are coming out.

If those games end up being good. Then Nintendo needs to continue to make such games. As the system doesn't have many good games.

Wii's 2009 lineup looks fantastic. Assuming Fatal Frame IV will FINALLY touch down, and No more Heroes gets its sequel out..
