The Bassist of Nirvana never really played Rock Band, but he knew that Nirvana has released a few songs on the game. So he decided to check it out. Little did he realise he was terrible at. And then a little kid started playing right after him and played extremely well, little did the kid know the person from that band was watching him cream his score.

"I knew the bass line to the song, of course, but I couldn't quite master this new, different way of playing it," writes Krist Novoselic, bassist for Nirvana, of his encounter with Rock Band 2.

Novoselic wrote about confronting a song he'd played hundreds of time — in studio, live, you name it — on Rock Band 2. But first, he's not a gaming luddite: "Rock has found new life with video games, and the phenomenon is leading to a revival of bands that have been around for a long time," he wrote in the Seattle Weekly.

But he never had any exposure to Rock Band or Guitar Hero until recently in a mall store, where he was literally beaten at his own game.

Well, if he plays the real thing really well, you can't say he was beaten at his own game. Especially if he's never played RB before.

Let's face it, a rhythm game and a bass guitar are different. It will be nice to see them merge a bit more on the gaming side.

Haha. Not really a shocker. I play a real guitar and I could barely play Guitar Hero. They're really not that similar and I've never met anyone who could play a real instrument well pick up and easily play GH. In fact, they all sucked much much more than someone who never played an instrument picking up GH for the first time.

I agree there 100%. Guitar Hero/Rock Band are simple rhythm games nothing more, nothing less.

Well, that proves it then. If you play guitar, you can definitely play a rock game, without a doubt.

Sorry if my "assface" is going to shit all over your rebuttal, but I already know that. You stated something against DystopiaSticker, with much less substance, but with the implication that this applied to everyone. So, there you have it.

It's like the chinese guy from Dragon Force couldn't play Through the Fire and Flames on expert. Nothing unusual.

He can't even play it on real guitar when he is out of the studio so what did you expect?

He was talking about living in Europe as a kid awhile ago in some random interview I watched.

I figured he was born there with Chinese decent.

Kerry King was a golfing member at my work and said Raining Blood on GHIII was the hardest thing he has ever done. I wish I could've watched him, he had to have been pissed.

The Nirvana bassist was never any good anyway. How he even got famous is a travesty. So he tries to do better in RB2, and STILL sucks. Ha.

He's a fine bassist, you guys just don't like Nirvana. I despise them as a band but that doesn't take away from him being a decent bassist.

I hate you because you hate Nirvana.

In response, I will grow out my hair, stop shaving, and start wearing chains again. Hair will be green again.

I used to be a big fan back in 6th grade or so but I got sick of them after a while and now I just can't stand it at all.

Kinda embarrassing for him, but it's hard to pick up GH or RB for the first time and nail a song straight away.
