According to the game's page on Xbox Japan, Resident Evil 5 should bring lots of goodies to gamers when it hits stores. Downloadable content (DLC), online rankings, and custom soundtrack support are what's listed.

Oh, and to clarify, the 'system link' feature only works with two players, not 2-16 as rumours have been saying.

[T]he product page on Xbox Japan confirms Resident Evil 5 will have some kind of downloadable content. Perhaps, downloadable tanks or Jeeps for the zombies not riding dirtbikes.

Resident Evil 5 also has online rankings and supports custom soundtracks just in case you want to blast zombies while listening to Hannah Montana. We’re not judging or anything, the contrast might even be a riot.

Online rankings...why? What are we being ranked on, time and how many headshots we get, or how well a team works together? I don't get it.

It's like asking why DMC or Ninja Gaiden have online rankings, the games keep track of stats. Kills, deaths, time, methods of killing, etc. Makes perfect sense.

It's not the same to me. I mean, DMC and Ninja Gaiden are action games where we basically plow through enemies with various weapons...whereas here, yes it's action, but it's also a shooter. Aiming and shooting really isn't that hard, pulling off the combos and such necessary to get higher in ranks is. Those games run at a much quicker pace.

        I don't know, I just don't think a Co-Op shooting game is right for this. :S
