Ubisoft has confirmed new releases for a new Ghost Recon game along with a new Splinter Cell game. They also have confirmed a time frame for Assassin's Creed 2 and these new games as well. The Time frame is April 1st to march 31 of 2010. Talk about a huge time gap.

Ubisoft has today announced targets for its next financial year (April 1, 2009 - March 31, 2010), confirming the release of Assassin's Creed 2, Splinter Cell Conviction and a new Ghost Recon game.

Yves Guillemot commented: "2009-10 looks very promising and our teams are working flat-out to provide gamers with the best the industry has to offer. Our line-up comprises several potential blockbusters with the launch of 7 franchises, including Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell and Ghost Recon, as well as 4 license-based games including James Cameron's Avatar, 3 new brands and a further-enhanced casual games portfolio."

Didn't they push the game back further so it wouldn't have MGS4 hype surrounding it?

Thats an excuse i heard though chances are the game was just in poor shape when they originally planned to release it... MGS4 was coming out so they played the "I'm scared of getting destroyed" card.

I'll have to finally get around to beating Assassin's Creed, then.

Somebody needs to fix the title.

    a new Ghost Recon game.
Just a new Ghost Recon game. It doesn't say it's going to continue the story arc of Advanced Warfighter. It's going to create a new scenario.

Dont really care if AC2 takes a while. Despite its critics, AC1 was fantastic and I cant wait for the sequel.

Completely agree. Let them polish up the missions a bit, diverse that, and I'll be happy with the rest.

They need to spend more time on AC2, adding more depth so it will top the first. =)

Assassin's Creed 2 and Ghost Recon are must-buys for me. I'll pass on Splinter Cell, not a big fan of the series.

Assassin's Creed 2! Woot! That game wasn't a AAA game but it was still fun and had a lot of potential. Can't wait.

AC2 has a lot of potential, let's just hope it isn't as repetitive as number 1, but I hope it keeps a lot of what made number 1 an awesome game.

Hopefully the new assassins creed won't be let down by it's story line.

I thought the story was the best part of the first game. It was many different other areas that crapped it up.

That is true, AC story was very well made and they did the whole "memory/time travel" thing very well.

I really hate all the Splinter Cell games, but I've been wanting another one to come out for a while. I'm so happy to see that finally happen.

I'd really love to see a Next-Gen Splinter Cell game. While I don't like the games, I do think they're usually high quality, well made, and very deserving of the praise it gets. I can't wait for a new one.

I'm also pretty excited for AC2. I really liked the first one a lot.

Wasn't Double Agent on the 360 and PS3? Graphically I thought it looked nice.

Splinter Cell:DA was on the PS2, 360, and Gamecube. Sure, it looked nice, but I'd like to see a TRUE next-gen Splinter Cell game, ONLY on the PS3 and 360.

        I think it'll be amazing.

How is it not a TRUE next gen game if it has games on the PS2? Does that mean that The Force Unleashed and Call of Duty 5 aren't next gen games for being made on the DS as well as the 360 and PS3?

Double Agent was next gen. the graphics werent bad actually. its just the game as a whole wasnt quite as good as Chaos Theory was, partly cause it was made by the team that made Pandora Tomorrow, while another team made Chaos Theory and they are supposedly the ones making Conviction.

Splinter Cell:DA was not a truly next gen game, lol.

I'm not saying it looked bad, in fact, if you actually read what I posted, you'll see I said that they've all looked great. I'm just saying a game can't take full advantage of the newer consoles, AND have the exact same version on the previous consoles.

          I don't see how that's not understood.

Just because it's released while the next gen consoles are out, doesn't mean it's a next gen game. For the exact same game to work on previous consoles, they obviously have to hold back. Unless the PS2 is as powerful as the Xbox 360, which is just not true.

Like I said before, I want a game to take FULL advantage of the power of newer consoles, and be excluded from the previous ones, because I don't want anything held back.

However, I do understand the reasons behind them creating a cross-gen game with SC:DA, because at the time, the shift from one gen to the other wasn't nearly as far along as it is now.

And, poo, your argument made me laugh. SC:DA had THE EXACT SAME VERSION of the game on both generations of consoles. Obviously, they had to hold back so that the older consoles could handle it. Are COD5 and TFU the same exact games on the DS as they are on the PS3 and 360? Nope.

Not to mention, the DS isn't a console, it's a hand-held. So I'd think it would go without saying that it's excluded from this argument.

Lol, maybe I'm wrong and they are all the same version... I didn't know the DS was so damn powerful. I think I'll pick one up and sell my consoles.

Wasn't the 360 and PS3 versions different than the PS2 version? Wouldn't that make it so they really did take advantage of the "next gen" consoles?

          Drogo Baggins Jan 27, 09
Well, there wasn't a PS3 version of SC:DA, and the 360 and PS2 versions were the exact same game. If anything, they had the same graphics.

I'd say the only real difference between the two would be that the 360 version could probably be played in HD.

The 360 version could be played in HD, which is different than the graphics actually being made better for the 360 version.

They both looked the same in SD. If the 360 version was different than the PS2 version, then that would not be the case

If the game was ONLY on the 360, then it would looked much better than it actually did.

If Alan Wake and Splinter Cell don't come out this year, I'm selling my 360.

Drogo, that's really confusing. Why can you not wait for a new one to come out when you hate the series?

      Drogo Baggins Jan 27, 09
I know it sounds dumb that I can't wait for the next SC game, but I hate the series.

It's just that, I think they're great games, and I'd love to see how amazing they can get. They just aren't games I'm into.

It's sort of like how you might hate a musician, because you don't like listening to his music, but you can still think he makes good music.

I've never really gotten into Splinter Cell, but I can't deny that they're great games.
