The "Banjo Blog" was updated today by Rare's George K, who brings us some lovely new high definition screenshots of Banjo-Tooie. The game is of course, a re-release for the Xbox Live Arcade, due out in a few months...!

The game will be available to download this April, appropriate since Easter is the designated time for hunting multi-coloured eggs.

As with the XBLA release of Banjo-Kazooie, you can expect all the fully-featured fun from the original game. But there’s more – 4J Studios have dredged the Banjo team’s collective memory and implemented the original plan for Stop ‘n’ Swop, for the first time on any platform ever and after many long years of waiting. Without going into too much detail, the Stop ’n’ Swop items collected in Banjo-Kazooie will ‘magically’ appear in Tooie, resulting in... well, you'll just have to find out. What could be cooler than that? Nothing, that’s what – not even Kazooie turning into a dragon.

Naturally there’s still more to discover, but we want to keep some secrets. They’re not buried too deep in the game, but for now at least, our beaks are sealed.

I must admit. I looooove Banjo Kazooie, but never played the sequel on the N64. So while I didn't buy the XBLA original Kazooie (I already beat the game with everything back in the day), this one I am pretty interested in, and it is looking pretty as all hell. Plus bang for your buck on XBLA, this wins hands down compared to other titles you can beat in a few hours. More people need to make full original games on Live (It looked like "The Maw" was doing this, but I'm not sure how many hours it takes to complete versus your average old N64 platformer).

Well you missed out big time then. Banjo-Tooie was 2x better than Banjo-Kazooie in terms of depth, story, gameplay and replay ability. It's just an awesome game that should be played by ALL!

I wouldn't say it was better, but it was definitely a worthy sequel and just as good as the original.

Totally agree there, the humor in particular is outragerous

Thank god, I've been keeping 1200 MS points around for a while now.

Tooie is every bit as good as the first.

Note: Already got all achievements on Banjo Kazooie.

EDIT: Wish it were a little earlier though...

Also, do I smell online multiplayer? That would nearly be as awesome as if they released Perfect Dark with online...
