PSN to SEN: Time to rage quit? - DarkFeed

Blend Games (part of Cinema Blend) wrote about the recent problem they encountered with Square Enix and the new Final Fantasy XIII trailer. Apparently Square doesn't want certain gaming website covering certain parts of their games.
Because of legal complications were not able to go into full details here, but you should know that Blend Games will no longer cover Square Enix game trailers. Not because we dont want to, but because they wont let us. All we can say is that our recent coverage of Final Fantasy XIII was not something that Square Enix wanted. It wasnt anything we said, they simply didnt want us showing you their trailer. At all.

Good luck with that, guys. Have fun regulating the Internet.
I actually heard something about this on GAF before the trailers were put up anyway. Apparently they sent emails out to major online websites not to host the trailer themselves... Yeah, Square Enix is pretty new to the internet.
But I don't know why people felt the need to rip the trailers and rehost them anyway, it's not that hard to point someone to any of the three official sites and say "Here. Go nuts."
In terms of game content, I prefer EA nowadays for sure. But in terms of company policy (see: DRM/progressive-mindedness), I would easily pick Square.
If Star Ocean IV is good though, I'll certainly get it.
Plus, not everyone can watch the trailers on the official sites. (official sites can be a real bitch to load, even with broadband). It's pretty unfair that they expect everyone to go to their official site to watch the trailer. Alot of people probably wouldn't bother.
Flawless logic from Squeenix, as always.
If that is what you meant, couldn't you have just said it like that?

Thats where they want you to go though.
Also it's up on the NA PSN store as well.
It makes even less sense about the legal threats then. Maybe Blend Games wasn't supposed to have it up before PSN and Gametrailers?
But I can understand where they're coming from. It's their property, if you post it without their permission, they're well within their rights to threaten legal action. On the other hand, it was downright moronic for them to think a nicely worded letter a day beforehand would stop it.
Of course, I think the best versions are the 1080p ones I got from the Stores anyway, the ones I downloaded from other places looked terrible. Even the FLV from the site looked bad, to be honest.
Big sites such as Gametrailers and IGN have both got the trailer hosted themselves.
