OXCGN has tallied over 128 games that are reportedly scheduled for release during 2009.

The list is extensive and include Dev, Publishers and release dates where possible.

Do slip[ along and check it out, and make sure you do read the lead-in to the list so you know what the list is about and what to expect. It is being added to as it progresses, so bookmark it as a permanent page to review when looking for 360 games.

So what we have here is a “relatively” short list of games - (128 games), ideally heading to the Xbox 360 during 2009.

While many factions (read fanbois) say there are very little games coming out on the 360 this year, and that it’s doomed because there’s “no games” - we’re here to set the record straight and show you what games are heading our way in 2009.

Please note: Some games may well have been released in some regions, but not in all, so if a game has been released in your region, do not dismiss the list as inaccurate, as many PAL territories are yet to receive these releases. Many are known entities, some are not so well known but have certainly made an impression over the last year or so as they moved towards completion or as news of them has come to hand.

Not really a good list. I am only really excited about GTA IV: The Lost and Damned, BioShock 2, CoD6 and F.E.A.R 2.

How is 189 games not a good list? Granted most of them are multiplatform, but they all have the potential to be fun, don't they?

Woah, LOADS of games there, including a few ridiculous ones (Bikini Zombie Slayers? lol) but nothing that would excite or even interest me. =/

so Forza 3, Halo Wars, Halo FPS, Alan Wake, Velvet Assassin, COD: MW2, Deus Ex 3, Splinter Cell Convictions, Resident Evil 5, Batman: Arkham Asylum, and many others do not even raise a little bit of excitement . . wow, then I truly worry for you mate (jk btw) . . as it seems these days, many newer or younger games seem oblivious to so many great titles, and only focus on a few major ones.

Shame really, as those that do are doing themselves a disservice big time.

You've gotta be the first person I've known on Neo who has a very 360-based username, yet always seems to have his head on perfectly straight in matters. Props. (In case you were wondering, normally members with 360 paraphernelia in their username tend to be heavily biased).

Thanks mate, both myself and the crew at OXCGN are "gamers" not fanbois . . we see Gaming as a fun hobby and way of enjoying our lives and simply want to share that with others. When I chose my GamerTag, it made sense, I'm Australian Oz, I had a xbox 360 and bang, there you go . . . . . and I've kept it from day one, and actually selected it before the 360 was released . . had an inclining that the name was to be xbox 360. It was one of the code names used earlier on in the dev cycle and seemed to pop up a lot . .

SO thanks for the thumbs up, most appreciated, glad you like the site as well.

How could any of those games not interest you even in the slightest? I'm heavily looking forward to Prototype and many other games there but I guess everybody has different tastes.

The only reason i would say it's not a good list is because the exclusives don't appeal to me and the rest are on the Playstation 3. I will be suprised if Alan Wake comes out i mean a Microsoft exclusive that has gone without news for 3 years... Thats not normal for them.

Most games have a solid 3-5 yr production period from concept to release, Gears was in 'serious' production from early in 2003, but was under conception for a few years prior to that under different names.

Most games we see come on a 12-18 month cycle are already well into development as the earlier iteration hits the shelves. They need to . .which is why Rainbow Six's new one was well under way the moment the last Rainbow landed, as was GRAW 3. HAWX has been in the works at Ubi for almost 3 1/2 - 4 yrs No more than Alan Wake, or any other major AAA title really.

Games are not designed and built overnight. Just pitchig a game and getting it "inked" (signed off with a publisher) takes approx 6 months of the games dev period, in which they really can't go too far, in case the publisher wants certain changes etc.

We are simply SPOILT rotten today with games . . gamers have NEVER - ever had it so good, yet what astounds me is, the number that continually complain . . .

We are seeing more games, but the overall game quality in my opinion has been going down. Sure, the games look and sound better but are we getting more good games or just more games? People like to claim that the Wii is the only place for shovelware, but there are plenty of terrible titles on the other two platforms as well. I don't see a lot of mediocre options as a good thing. I would rather have limited, but greater gameplay experiences.
