A new version of the Guitar Hero franchise is coming in the forms of DJ Hero. Apparently the strums will be replaced with turntables. The change of pace just might revitalize the series.

Guitar Hero: World Tour allows people who want to be Metallica or Led Zeppelin to live their dreams...but what about people who want to be Grandmaster Flash? Seems they'll be getting their own game, DJ Hero, in 2009.

    I approve this idea.

Scratchin' is fun and electronic music is good -- for my tastes.

At this point, I'm waiting for Violin Hero and Cello Hero.

It won't be long until game developers start to target the classical music fan demographic.

What about Triangle Hero or Bagpipe Hero? With a bagpipe peripheral. And a demo you can try out at gamestop that's been used by scores of people half of them with herpes.

Yes you're right. Scratching on a near-authentic turntable is gay. But clicking a bunch of buttons and thinking you're a guitar God, oh that's cool, really cool.

I can see this being a good musical learning system as long as the game doesn't hold their hand at every stage. I mean beatmatching and timing are skills that are hard to learn in real DJing. If this game allows people to do that and learn those skills without having to spend thousands on high spec decks and mixing equipment let alone the extortionate price of vinyl these days, then i'll give it a go but if the decks are simple replacing the button presses with table spinning and mixer slamming then the game will get old fast.

Hahaha, DJ Hero. Pretty soon it's going to be Violin Hero, then Sousaphone Hero, then Xylophone Hero...

I would like to try it, though.
