Okay folks, another one of those studies that go back and forth on this topic. I analyzed the info (I'm a Psych major) and it seems to be what we call a longitudinal study, one that follows the same people over a period of time.

Personally, I think it was well done and therefore must have SOME merit. But it needs to be studied further, and done on more sets of teenagers.

"Spending more hours watching television or playing video games as a teenager may lead to depression in young adults, according to a study published Monday."

    Yay! Fellow Psych major-er!

I remember hearing about a similar study where people generally felt worse after watching TV or playing games. Not neccessarily depressed, but it lowered their moods. Doesn't surprise me, tbh.

Increasing of intelligence always increases depression...

This may have some merit, I haven't laughed since 2002, but that might be because they cancelled Invader Zim.

That's funny 2002 is the year I found happiness and laughter again, maybe the same reason?

All XBL's fault. Wii's for casual nice non competitive gamers.

At first I was pretty skeptical considering that the research does not include any factors other than electronic media. I thought that they had a correlation AT BEST. With the conclusions that they showed at the end, I was pretty convinced otherwise. They have a nice connection there that could be a fact.

I have been playing video games since I was 9years old I made it through my teen years in one piece I turned out fine It depends on the person otherwise I agree with the article totally it also depends on the maturity level of the player.
